“THOSE WHOM THOU HAST GIVEN ME”
Great Calvinistic
consternation …
that is … dismay and head shaking unbelief … mixed with chest
puffing pride
… abounds toward anyone who does not agree with God pre-selecting
people for
salvation.
“Look!”
they say “at all the scriptures that
repeatedly say this … the following being just a few!”
“And this
is the Father's will which hath sent me,
that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing,
but
should raise it up again at the last day.” (John 6:39)
““And now
I am no more in the world, but these are
in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own
name those
whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I
was with
them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest
me I
have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the
scripture might be fulfilled.” (John 17:11-12)
“I pray
for them: I pray not for the world, but for
them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.” (John 17:9)
“And
again, I will put my trust in him. And again,
Behold I and the children which God hath given me.” (Hebrews
2:13)
To the
average church-goer, it all sounds
convincing … even though in their hearts, it doesn’t seem right?
But how to
repel the bombastic … oooops!
sorry … I mean humble (that God should save them) … Calvinist?
But Dear
Reader they are correct … God does give
people to Jesus!
“What!!!”
people exclaim.
Yes, it
goes like this …
It was a
free will decision to believe in
the Lord Jesus Christ before the cross for temporary salvation
(John 3:16)
… as it is now to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal
security
(Acts 16:31) … in the present day.
Having
done this, then and now, God the Father then
GIVES THOSE BELIEVERS TO JESUS CHRIST.
Dear
Reader, how simple … your free will
decision to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ means that God the Father
will
then give you to God the Son … unless you were Judas … the son of
perdition.
