“YOU DON’T
HAVE TO!”
EXPLANATION:
You’re in
good company!
There’s Abraham
who couldn’t understand why
God would ask him to sacrifice his son.
Then
there’s Moses who God exalted for forty
years in Egypt right up to being second in command, and then God took
him out
into the desert for another forty years looking after sheep.
He
probably didn’t understand either.
Oh! Let’s
not forget Joseph who could not
understand the cruelty of his brothers; the lies and false story
against him
from his master’s wife, and then to top it all off, the long years of
being
unjustly put in prison.
I’m sure
he had a big question mark as well!
Furthermore,
we are reminded of Joseph’s father, Jacob,
who couldn’t understand why Jospeh was ripped out of his life? Why
Lord????
Then
there’s Elizabeth and Zacharias,
being well stricken in years, not being able to have a child. They
couldn’t
understand either.
Then of
course we are reminded of Jacob
having to wait fourteen years for Rachel for his wife. Man! That would
test
your understanding! I’m sure he said something along these lines “God,
I’m
doing my best! Give me a break! I need something! I have absolutely no
idea
what you’re doing LORD?!”
DEAR
CHRISTIAN … NOW FOR YOUR LIFE …
You may be
saying …
“God, why
do I have this infirmity, sickness, persecution,
affliction, distress in my life? I don’t understand?”
“I don’t
understand why God is taking the long road
instead of giving me a short cut? Lord, I’m ready right now to serve
you!”
“Lord why
won’t you save my children? I just don’t’
understand!”
“Lord, why
have you allowed my child to be killed?
I don’t understand!”
“Lord I
don’t understand that the plans I have for
you are good and worthwhile but they don’t come to anything! I keep
getting
thwarted!”
“Lord, I
don’t understand why the blessings I need
are so long delayed?”
“Lord, why
am I single and can’t find a wife/
husband?”
“God why
have you taken what was near and dear to
me away? I don’t understand.”
Dear
Reader, you don’t’ have to understand God’s
ways.
In fact
the Bible says it’s impossible.
The best
you can do is to find people in the Bible
and know that others that have gone before you have experienced
something
similar to what you are going through.
O the
depth of the riches both of the wisdom and
knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his
ways
past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord?
or who
hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall
be
recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him,
are all
things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. Romans 11:33-36
All your
lack of understanding just proves one
thing … that God is God and you’re not.
Let’s put
it this way, God does not expect you to
understand.
You don’t
expect your children to understand you –
just trust, obey and believe you. AMEN?
We have a pure
gold guarantee, that one day
looking in that rear vision mirror in heaven, we will see the glory of
God in all
the things we did not understand.
But all
this ‘faith thing’ does not sit well in
this instant gratification society in which we live. Most people can’t
hang
onto themselves, and not mentally go to pieces, for a long week-end.
But put it
this way, if God does give you an answer
to your “WHY” question, do something about it.
But odds
on, you won’t be able to, as it will be an
impossible task he sets you.
But this
is God’s plan to shut you in without an
escape so that you must go back to him for an opening of the doors, a
deliverance or a way out … and in his good will and time!
