ANSWER:
You’ve all heard of blackouts of total darkness, well a Brownout is a partial blackout.

It has God sending a form of blindness upon the following:

1. Those who prefer The King James Bible,
2. Those who just use The King James Bible
3. Those that use any other version
4. Those that resort to the ‘Greek’

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
The above have worked very, very hard to get to this position, something similar to Esau rejecting his birthright.

I mean Esau didn’t get the chocolates, but he still got something, right?

And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; Gen 27:39

So Dear Reader, no need to be alarmed, if you are saved, you still have everything. It’s just that word and doctrine rewards, of course along with faith and practice rewards, might very well elude you (1Tim 5:17).

God has given you your birthright with perfect, inerrant, infallible, inspired Bible - The King James Bible and you’ve said “No thanks!”

THAT’S ALL A BIT HARSH ISN’T IT?
Look put it this way, as the Bible says

For the time will come when they WILL NOT endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 2 Timothy 4:3

It’s not as though they can’t, they just will not! And the reasons are “after their own lusts”.

WHAT ARE THESE LUSTS?
The Bible mentions the THREE BIG ONES – flesh, eyes, pride of life.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1 John 2:16

WHAT CAUSES THESE?
The lust of the flesh comes from not walking in the Spirit.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

HOW DOES THAT COME ABOUT?
As God’s Spirit, the indwelling Holy Ghost, agrees 100% with God’s word, then if people of the above four categories do not believe God’s words, that is, the English King James Bible, they can’t be walking in the Spirit, can they? It stands to reason.

WHAT ABOUT THE PRIDE OF LIFE?
They are still in the world and straddling the fence, with one foot in each camp.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1 John 2:16

That is they are still not transformed in the mind and they are still conformed to the world.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

These are people who say “I still have a life to live you know!” God can have that and that and that, but not this or this.” 

WHAT ABOUT THE LUST OF THE EYES?
When Israel conquered a nation, they were told to destroy all pictures and idols – for a start.

Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places: Numbers 33:52

Dear Reader if you are spending more than a few minutes watching TV, movies, internet, newspapers, magazines and so on, you’ll find you are unconsciously being instructed by the god of this world (2Cor 4:4).

A BIBLE BROWNOUT?
Ah yes Dear Reader, it’s as if getting saved is the easy bit. From then on, there is a monstrous battle that you can’t win.

Make a decision, how much of your life is God’s? You will not endure sound doctrine because of the above four categories listed at the start of this article.

I STILL DON’T QUITE UNDERSTAND PREACHER!?
People with Brownout Syndrome have three easily identifiable symptoms:

1. They equate the kingdom of heaven as identical with the kingdom of God
2. They get their Christian doctrine out of Acts
3. Believe Hebrews is written to backslidden Christians

These three books are God’s steel clawed bear traps for those that will not endure sound doctrine.
