“THE ‘CHRISTIAN’ PHILOSOPHER’S CREED”
adapted from Dr Ruckman’s Alexandrian Creed
1. There is no final authority but John 4:24 God in
heaven.
2. As God is a Spirit (John 4:24), there is no
final authority that can be seen, heard, read, felt
or handled.
3. Since all books are material, there is no
book on this earth that is the final and absolute authority on what is
right
and what is wrong, that is, on what constitutes truth and what
constitutes
error.
4. As the ‘Christian’ Philosopher will not
study the English of the King James Bible, he resorts to philosophy,
despite
God’s warning about the vain deceit of philosophy … ‘Christian’ or
otherwise …
as follows … “Beware
lest any man spoil you through philosophy
and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the
world,
and not after Christ.” (Colossians 2:8) …
the term Christian
philosophy being a red herring.
5. There was a series of writings one time,
which if they had all been put into a book as soon as they were
written
the first time, would have constituted an infallible and final
authority
by which to judge truth and error.
However this series or writings were lost, and the God
who inspired them was unable to preserve their content.
6. Since there is no absolute final written authority
on earth that anyone can read, teach, preach or handle, the whole thing
is a
matter of preference.
Everyone can prefer what they prefer … I
will prefer what I will prefer … and you can prefer
what
you prefer.
7. Let us therefore live in peace, and if we cannot
agree on anything or everything, let us all agree on one thing … there
is no
final absolute written authority anywhere on this earth.
8. “Goody! Goody! Phew! What a relief! As a Christian
philosopher, I have now released myself from being under the authority
of the perfect,
infallible, inerrant King James Bible, and all decisions about truth
and error
lie solely in my own mind and beliefs.”
