“THE FORKED-TONGUED CALVINIST GOD”
Dear Reader, it’s a great relief to a Christian to
know he has a reasonable God.
As silk is to sandpaper, the God of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob (Matthew 22:32), was revealed to the world … that is … 180
degrees
opposite in thought, word and manner … to the
unpredictable pagan
gods that surrounded Israel.
The God who invented mathematics … you know … one and
one makes two … JEHOVAH God Almighty
(Exodus 6:3) was the first
… and
has been the only God … of predictive certainty, reliability
and reason.
On the other hand, the pagan gods were capricious,
cruel and unpredictable … you know … one plus one might
equal three
one day … and twenty the following.
So fickle were these gods, they could turn on a dime …
for very simple things like … their underpants were the wrong size … or
the
local supermarket had run out of their favourite Hershey’s Chocolate
ice
cream.
And this could send them into a Hitler-like rage
resulting in the massacre of innocents.
So God Almighty appears on the scene who … in his own
words states … that he is the God of reason
(Isaiah 1:18).
“Oh! That’s good” we all sigh with relief.
Now the Websters 1828 states that the word ‘reason’
accompanies such words as objective, rational and logical
… you know … as stated above … if the number one is added to another
number one,
then the total makes two … predictable and reliable … with the answer
being the
same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
But along comes the Calvinist God that defies
reason.
Why?
If God is not the author of confusion, then why can’t
the Calvinist explain the difference between two scriptures
that seem to
contradict each other?
Firstly,
“Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and
whom he
will he hardeneth.”
(Romans 9:18)
(Oh!
The Calvinist loves the above verse … totally ignoring that the verse
is
contained NOT in the context of salvation.)
Secondly,
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count
slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should
perish, but
that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
With the knowledge and understanding of a drowned
squirrel is a flooded drain, our basic befuddled Calvinist is thrust
into a
quandary for an explanation.
Is God willing or not willing to save people?
So he trots out the same ol’ chesnut of … trying to
sound wise …
“Well … we all deserve to burn in hell, but at least
God saves some of us!”
or something as equally ridiculous as …
“Our God is a mysterious God … who can know his ways
and thoughts!”
or
“I guess we’ll all find out one day.”
So on one hand the Calvinist’s God is not willing
any should perish … but then … on the other hand … we find that God
hardens
hearts so they can’t get saved.
This what is called speaking with forked tongue …
speaking with insincerity and deceit.
This saying originated in the 16th century
where snakes … which … having forks in their tongues … were
associated
with evil and deception.
But then again, with Satan being the master of the
forked tongue, he is very much at home in the mouth of the
forked-tongue
Calvinist.
A note for those genuinely wanting to learn:
As deaf as a blind beetle … the non-dispensationalist
… and exceedingly proud of it … Calvinist woefully weds the NON
salvation verse of Romans … to marry the salvation verse in Peter.
And that’s why the Calvinist … pretending to be wise …
only has his non-meaningless platitudes to explain away the Bible.
