Dear Reader … there’s DIY
(Do It Yourself) or Jesus has already done it for you.
Both
require perfect 100%
completion on each of the Ten Commandments listed below.
You
must get a perfect score
of 10 out of 10.
So
what does this mean? It
means not breaking any of these commandments … even if it’s only one.
But
you know you’ve already
failed as the Bible says “all have sinned” (Romans
3:23)
I
was chatting with a fellow
down at the shops the other day, and he assured me that the only
commandment
he’d ever broken in his life was #4 … keeping the Sabbath.
I
asked him “Do you realize
that getting nine out of ten means zero with the following two
verses …
“For
whosoever shall keep
the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty
of
all.” (James 2:10)
“…
Cursed is every
one that continueth not in all things which are written in the
book of
the law to do them.” (Galatians 3:10)
This
was a total shock to
him as he believed … like the rest of the population … that 50% was a pass
mark for God to let you into heaven.
But
I pointed out to him
that he had no idea of the perfect and pure nature of God … that he
will not
let one sin … or one sinner … into heaven.
The
diagram below
represents the Ten Commandments linked as a chain … and as the saying
goes “A
chain is only as strong as its weakest link.”
That
means … for example … not
keeping the Sabbath … breaks the chain.
This
means entry into
heaven is impossible.
So
the diagram becomes as
follows …
Now
of course, not keeping
the Sabbath meant he is breaking #1 as well … not loving
the Lord
thy God with all thy heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30).
But
I informed him that
Christ kept all the ten commandments perfectly on our behalf … as
follows …
So
when the jailer asks Paul “What must I do to be saved” … the answer was
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ”
(Acts 16:31) … HE LIVED THE SINLESS
LIFE ON
BEHALF OF US ALL.
Never
mind our total failure … we believe on Christ’s perfect works and
perfect shed blood
to get into heaven.
So
Dear Reader, if you’re trying to get to heaven with your keeping the
Ten
Commandments, you are like a car stuck in quick sand …
revving its
wheels … RIGHT DOWN INTO THE BURNING FLAMES OF HELL!
You
see Dear Reader, when you trust alone in Christ, you couldn’t care less
about
how hot the everlasting flames of hell are.
There’s
only one way into heaven … “Believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ
and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16:31).
Why?
The Bible says … the ten commandments weren’t given to save us, but put
us
under a curse.
(Galatians 3:10).
But
here’s the rescue package for all men … the good news … what Christ did
for us
…
“Christ
hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a
curse for us:
for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:”
(Galatians
3:13)
Dear
Reader, will you believe on what Christ has already done for you … or
will you
keep hoping that your efforts will get you into heaven?
