CHRISTADELPHIANS
WON’T BE GOING TO HEAVEN”

apart from not having eternal security)
Dear
Reader, I was having a little chat with a couple of Christadelphians
down at
Donut King the other day.
It
started with a lady giving me a booklet written by some bloke called
Turner published
under the Christadelphian banner.
It
claimed that the only hope for Christians was the return of the Lord
Jesus
Christ to earth at Armageddon … you know Matthew 24.
And
of course, Armageddon does happen seven years AFTER the rapture
… where
Christians are caught
up seven years
earlier (1Thessalonians
4:16-18).
I
told her the blessed hope for Christians is the ‘rapture’ … not
the second coming.
So
I
drew a little time line for her as follows …
Not
having the foggiest idea … she was unable to discuss this at all … you
know … being
trapped in a cult … they have to refer to the Big Pineapples in their
organisation.
Anyhow,
to cut a long story short … a Big Banana turns up saying that he
won’t be
going to heaven … but will be staying on earth.
I
said what about being ‘caught up’ to meet the Lord in the
air …
in
Thessalonians …
“For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice
of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise
first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be CAUGHT UP together
with them
in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be
with the
Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” (1 Thessalonians
4:16-17,18)
He
said “Oh yes, but that is the same as Philip and the eunuch … referring
to the
following scripture …
“And
when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord CAUGHT
AWAY
Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way
rejoicing. But
Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in
all the cities,
till he came to Caesarea.” (Acts 8:39-40)
He
said “The Greek root for
‘caught up’ and ‘caught away’ are the same.”
He
went on “Just as Philip
was translated sideways into another place on earth … being Azotus …
Christadelphians
will not be caught upwards … but will remain on earth.”
It
looks like this:
I
said to him “As a Christian, I am already in Christ … he’s in heaven …
so I am
in heaven.”
I
mean … you’d think he’d be ecstatic about being in heaven already … and
Christ
was simply coming back for his body in the rapture … but then again …
they’re
not Christians.
Dear
Reader, like a blind two year old juggling a set of scalpels … the Greek
nuggets once again send people to a burning hell!
But
of course … for the Counts of Monte Christo … there is no burning
hell …
why? … they’re sticking around here on earth.
And
here’s their difficulty … the
King James Bible is perfect, inerrant,
infallible
and inspired … such that … words that are different have
different
meanings
… “up” does not mean “away” … one is vertical and the other is
horizontal.
The
King James Bible is a highly exact legal document … such
that … in a
court of
law, presenting a case that relied on the words “up” and “away” as
being the
same … would be thrown out of court in five seconds.
