“DIMWIT CORNER WITH SILLY BILLY”
“Hey Mum! You know you can lose your salvation?”
Dear
Reader, Silly Billy hasn’t been reading THE Bible.
I
ran across a sincere religious man the other day saying he could lose
his
salvation if he rejected Christ as his Saviour.
“You
know, I can jump out of Jesus by rejecting him!” … that sort of
thing.
Dear
Reader, if you will not be run by the Bible, you can come up with all
sorts of stupidity.
This
bloke must reckon he is more powerful than Jesus Christ.
You
see, when a man or woman gets saved, God puts his earnest into
that man
or woman.
“What
is an earnest” you might be saying?
Put
it this way, when you go shopping, you can put an item on lay-by
… in
that, you put a deposit on the article … meaning that you will come by
at a
future date, pay what’s owing … and then being the rightful owner, you
can take
it home.
This
earnest deposit means that no-one else can buy that particular
item.
So
when a man gets saved, he has God’s deposit in him … the indwelling
Holy
Ghost.
God
is coming back to claim his own very shortly … as the following says …
“For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice
of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall
rise
first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up
together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we
ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these
words.”
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17,18)
I
said to the man “If you have children, they will always be your
children, no
matter what they say. Even if they reject you.”
Why?
They will always have the same DNA as you.
Now,
they can hate you and scream blue-murder … … go to a court and get a
civil
court order … saying they have de-adopted themselves from you.
It
won’t matter a brass razoo!
You
know, saved people get into all sorts of state of mind … depression,
schizo,
neurosis, psychosis and so on … drugs can do that to you
as well.
How
about torture? Dear Reader, I’m not sure how I’d go … but I
reckon I
would be tapping the mat at some stage … it’s said that 63 days is a
man’s
limit.
Would
I go to hell? Of course not … rejecting Jesus Christ under duress is
simply a
sin that Christ’s has already paid for.
Imagine
God leaving our salvation up to ourselves … what a pig’s breakfast!
Dear
Oh! Dear Oh! Dear Oh! Dearie me!
Study
the following scriptures and then tell me if you are more powerful than
God
himself … you know … by having your eternal security left up to your
own works.
“For
I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,
nor
things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any
other
creature
… THAT’S YOU SILLY BILLY …
shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ
Jesus our
Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
Dear
Reader, please study the following also:
“Therefore
we are buried with him by baptism into death (not
water): that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory
of the
Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we
have been
planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the
likeness
of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified
with him,
that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not
serve
sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with
Christ,
we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being
raised
from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.”
(Romans
6:4-5,6-9)
Of
course, the man I was talking with doesn’t have a Bible … he
has various
writings published by Rome … you know … the NIV, the NASB, the Good
News,
the ESV, the NKJV … oh yes … he dips into anything writing
that
appeals to his fancy.
