“THE
MEANING OF EARTHQUAKES”
“And
ye shall hear of wars
and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things
must
come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against
nation, and
kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences,
and earthquakes,
in divers places.” (Matthew 24:6-7)
Increasingly,
there are more
and more reports of earthquakes around the earth … within the last
week, today
being 8/4/24, we have Taiwan, New York and China experiencing the same.
What
could God be doing?
People
want to blame Satan
for earthquakes, floods and other natural disasters but this is not
Bible truth
… as he is god of this world not the God of the earth (2 Corinthians
4:4).
Let’s
start at the
beginning:
In
the beginning God (Jesus
Christ, the Word) created the heaven and the earth (John 1:2) … and
Christ saw
that it was good.
Furthermore,
being the Rock
to come, the Word looked down from heaven and saw that it was not only
good ..
but very good (Genesis 1:31) … it was exactly like him … it was solid
rock! (1 Corinthians 10:4) … the earth was a physical representation of himself.
When
Adam and Eve sinned,
Christ made the earth’s core molten lava … hell … the
place for
sinners … but the mantle (the surface of the earth) stayed intact.
This
earth change still
represented Christ … it’s as if Christ says “That’s OK, I’m still the
solid
rock of one land mass, but now I also am fire judgment (Romans 14:10).
But
with the world’s
exponential sin, Christ drowns all living things in 2340 BC …
except for
Noah and the ark. At this stage, the earth is still one land mass …
with Christ
perhaps saying “I’m still one piece of solid Rock … it’s still good.”
But
340 years later about
2000 BC, at the tower of Babel, Christ gives new languages and divides
the
earth into separate continents (Genesis 10:25).
Perhaps,
this is when Christ
perhaps says “Nup! I’ve has enough … I’m breaking up the solid land
mass with
earthquakes … the earth’s surface is no longer very good! This
is my
judgment on sin.”
Since
then, over the
centuries, the mantle (the surface of the earth) has been broken up by
lots of
earthquakes, as Christ continues to show his displeasure at man’s sin.
And
strap yourself in Folks
… there’s more and more coming with increasing rapidity!
Furthermore,
volcanoes and
lava emissions (eg Iceland) are becoming more frequent … reminding
people of
their future in Christ’s physical hell … yes Folks as the popular
saying goes …
“It’s hell on earth now you know.”
Man’s
sin has broken the
once solid rock of earth with earthquakes … but God so loved the world
he sent
the Rock to be broken (John 3:16), that man, who physically once lived
upon
solid rock, may find redemption within the solid Rock of Christ.
Earthquakes
are God’s wrath
… God breaks up rock … to remind man of his sin … and man’s need to
‘run’ into
the Rock!
