“IF GOD’S
LOVE DOESN’T IMPRESS YOU TO GET SAVED,
Dear Reader, you’ve got to
hand it to God, in that,
he would have all men saved by HIS LOVE as follows …
“For God so loved the
world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have
everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
and also …
“Who will have all men
to be saved, and to
come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4).
But then again, there is
that popular saying that
says … “Neither love nor money” will work.
So if people won’t let
God’s love persuade them to
get them saved, then hopefully FEAR OF GOD might work
as follows
…
“You know And thinkest thou
this, O man, that
judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt
escape
the judgment of God? Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and
forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God
leadeth
thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart
treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and
revelation of
the righteous judgment of God;” (Romans 2:3,4,5)
LOVE or FEAR? Don’t blame God if you
don’t
get saved.
God’s has done his best
to get all saved by
their own free will.
Hopefully YOUR
fear of God,
and what he can do to you, will get you saved?
Dear Reader, please study
on the following five
points.
1. God’s law, the Ten
Commandments are a curse
as they demand sinless perfection …
“… for it is written:
Cursed is every one
that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the
law to
do them.” (Galatians 3:10)
2. And near enough is not
good enough …
“For whosoever shall keep
the whole law, and yet
offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10)
3. “Why will you not
burn in the fires of
hell?”
“Wherefore if thy hand
or thy foot
offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for
thee to
enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two
feet to be cast
into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck
it out,
and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with
one eye,
rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.”
(Matthew 18:8,9)
BUT … AND HERE IS THE LOVE OF
GOD …
4. “Christ hath redeemed
(saved and
never to be lost having eternal security) us from the curse of the
law,
being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that
hangeth
on a tree:” (Galatians 3:13)
5. “Believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ and thou
shalt be saved. In whom we have redemption through his blood
the forgiveness
of sins.” (Acts 16:31; Colossians 1:14)
An anecdote:
I remember my mother
telling me how she was saved.
Living on a farm in the
1920’s, they all went to
church on Sunday, where a Methodist preacher would preach the fear
of God
and the damnation of hell … followed by the gospel of the
Lord Jesus
Christ … as the only way into heaven.
How about that?
There was no … “Try Jesus”
message; or “Let God
fill the vacuum in your heart” invitation; or “God can give you meaning
for
living” sermons.
No Siree! the Preacher
didn’t muck about and simply
told them the facts.
Dear Reader, if you do any
sort of preaching or
teaching, maybe the above will help, with first … the fear of
God and
the sword of his law being the Ten Commandments … followed by
the gospel
of the Lord Jesus Christ.
