“A FUNNY THING ABOUT THE GREATCOMMISSION”
Dear Reader, as a Christian, are you under the Great
Commission?
… and a resounding “Yes!” could be heard from all and
sundry.
Dear Christian, are you a disciple of Jesus?
… and once again … and a resounding “Yes!” could be
heard from all and sundry.
Dear Christian, are you to preach the gospel to
every creature?
… and once again … and a resounding “Yes!” could be
heard from all and sundry.
I mean there it is … isn’t it?
“And
he (Jesus)
said unto them (his disciples), Go ye into all the
world, and preach
the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15-17,18)
Well
what on earth could be wrong with that?
But
here’s the thing … now agreeing to the above three
conditions … that is … being under the Great
Commission
as a disciple
if Jesus and preaching to gospel
to every creature … you should now be able to do the following …
1.
Cast out devils
2.
Speak with new
tongues
3.
Take up serpents
4.
Drink deadly
things
5.
Lay hands on the
sick
for their recovery.
Don’t
believe me?
Well
like the Chocolate Quick add on TV (drink it
Freddy! … drink it!) … but in this case … READ IT FREDDY! READ IT!
“He
that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth
not shall
be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name
shall
they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They
shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing,
it
shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they
shall recover.”
(Mark 16:16-18).
There
it is … black and white … in print.
Jesus
says if you are my disciple, you shall be able to do all these things.
What’s
wrong then? … not enough faith? … don’t believe it? … what’s the matter?
But
furthermore, as a Christian don’t you want to preach redemption
of all sins
… past, present and future … not just the Great Commission’s remission
of sins past (Romans 3:25; Luke 24:47)
“And
that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his
name
among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” … this
is the Great Commission (Luke 24:47)
“
… the remission
of sins that are past …”
(Romans 3:25)
Question:
“Mmmm!
Could it be you’re not under the Great Commission after all?”
Answer:
“Well you’re not!”
A
giant sigh of relief could be heard around the room.
Now
at this point, Christians can plainly see what the written word says …
but wait
for it … this is their reply …
“Well
… I can see we are not under the Great Commission at all … but I
STILL BELIEVE WE ARE.”
