“I’M A CHRISTIAN AND I HAVE AN INFERIORITY
COMPLEX”
What! Excuse
me! You’re a
Christian and you’ve got an inferiority complex? Hello? Inferior … says
who? Let’s
explain a few things:
See that? When
you are in
Christ, you do not compare yourself to anyone.
Third,
the Bible calls it a sin. Full stop. It’s a condition called “ME!
ME! ME!”.
Why? Although
the Bible
says “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in
lowliness of
mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”
(Philippians 2:3), this
does not mean to be inferior … this is Satan’s term.
Five,
inferior in what? You have been saved, born again, given a brand new
heart, all
sins forgiven … who is superior to these things? It is the other way
around …
the world, the so called ‘successful people’, should feel inferior to
you! You
have eternal security, a mansion in heaven, the Real Estate that lasts!
Whoever
you were has been put to death!
Six,
it’s called “Know Thyself”, and when you do, this obsession that the
world
calls ‘inferiority complex’ no longer exists. You can treat the world’s
assessment of you as a lie. The Bible
says so.
Seven,
that might have been you before you got saved. As we grow up, our image
of
ourselves is formed from the opinions of others … parents, friends and
relatives … for the better or for the worse.
Eight,
Oh Yes Dear Reader, the world does want to make it complex … more money
to be
made … more books to sell … more Psychiatrist fees to pay …
Nine,
but look Dear Reader, the old flesh can come back to haunt us.
Oh! How we
wish to be free
of the flesh! Yes Dear Reader, it’s a battle with the flesh to the day
we die
or are raptured. It is the old nature of the flesh that wars with
the Spirit
that dwells in us, indeed, our own human spirit as well … you know …
old
thoughts come back.
“For the flesh
lusteth
against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are
contrary
the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”
(Galatians
5:17)
Ten,
yes Dear Reader, the following verse is our new heart when we get
saved.
“My brethren, count
it
all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that
the trying
of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work,
that
ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” (James 1:2-4).
That is the
goal of
perfection … and we can’t do it on our own! And furthermore, God brings
about
unexpected events to keep putting us to death.
“For by one
Spirit are we
all baptized into one body …” (1 Corinthians 12:13).
Twelve, although
our old nature does not have dominion over
us, it still exists in our flesh body … while our soul is pure. It’s as
if we
are schizophrenics … two people in one.
Yes, your
flesh will tell you two things:
1. You are
superior to others
2. You are
inferior to others … and both are sins … and both are a waste of time!
Christians are
trapped in a
sinful body … and it can be a war if you let it.
“As Paul says “Finally,
brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good
report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on
these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received,
and
heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”
(Philippians
4:8-9).
