“I HAVE FOUND A CONTRADICTION IN THE BIBLE!”
Statement:
Paul's name
is in the
book of Romans to Philemon but not in the book of Hebrews.
So
according to the following he did
not write Hebrews.
“The
salutation of Paul with
mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I
write.” (2Thessalonians 3:17)
Answer:
No
it doesn’t prove it at all. The
words “salutation” and “name” do not mean the same thing.
Explanation:
A
salutation is not about a
name or identification. A salutation is not a signature at the
start or bottom
of a letter.
A
salutation is a greeting;
an act of respect or reverence by the customary words
and actions
that may or may not include the name of the writer.
In
military and naval affairs it is to honour some
person or nation by a discharge of cannon or small arms, by the
striking of
colours or by shouts and so on.
In fact, Paul
has a salutation in his epistle to
the Hebrews as follows …
“Salute
all them that have the rule over
you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.” (Hebrews
13:24)
Bible
Correctors are not very good students of the meanings
of English words.
They tell
us more about their own wilful
ignorance … than at what they protest … walking in the vanity
of their
own mind … and the blindness of their own hearts …
“This I
say therefore, and testify in the Lord,
that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the
vanity of
their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from
the
life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the
blindness
of their heart:”
(Ephesians 4:17-18)
Summed up
perfectly as follows …
“For there
must be also heresies among you, that they
which are approved may be made
manifest among you.”
(1Corinthians 11:19)
