“JESUS CHRIST - A MAN APPROVED OF GOD
(Acts 2:22)”
Miracle #17-
Matt
9:18, 23-26;
Mark 5:22-25,26-29,30-33,34-37,38-41,42-43;
Luke 8:41-44,45-48,49-52,53-56
This
miracle asks the question as to why Christ speaks
in Aramaic and not Hebrew …
“And
he took the damsel by the hand, and said
unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I
say unto
thee, arise.” (Mark 5:41)
A
LITTLE HISTORY OF LANGUAGE FIRST
Prior
to Noah’s flood in 2340 BC “… the whole earth
was of one language, and of one speech.” (Genesis
11:1) …
the language of which, nobody knows.
This
continued for about 300 years or so, culminating in
Noah’s distant descendants saying “… let us build us a city and
a tower,
whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we
be
scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” (Genesis
11:4).
This
then sounded the alarm bells for the LORD who then
said
“…Behold,
the people is one, and they have
all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing
will be
restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go
to, let us
go down, and there confound their language, that they may
not
understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them
abroad from
thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the
city.”
(Genesis 11:6-8)
At
this time, around 2,000 BC, the earth physically
divided … catastrophically formed (Genesis 10:25) … each with
different
nationalities speaking different languages, perched as it were,
on each
of these continents … ‘sailing off’ in all directions on top of their
own
little earth boats.
Now
one of these languages was God’s own language,
Hebrew, the softest sounding of them of all … as opposed to one
of the
harshest … the plosive German consisting of pulmonic
consonants … that is
coming from the
lungs … in which the vocal tract is blocked so that all airflow
ceases …
whereby the sounds are made with the tongue tip or blade, tongue body,
lips and
glottis.
And
as with the language, so has been the
oppositional history of Germany, with Hitler attempting to annihilate
the
Jewish race.
So
the LORD spoke in the Hebrew language to
Abraham, the first Hebrew (Genesis 14:13). However, from then on, it
has been a
down hill run, a watering down, a contamination of
God’s
own language … ending up with Christ on earth, talking to Israel in the
language of the day … Aramaic … the language of Babylon …
with
this nation replacing their Babylonian language with that of the Aramean
nation, who lived around the Euphrates and Mesopotamia.
Now
Israel, having been conquered, were
taken to Babylon (606 – 536 BC), with the result, that their Hebrew
language
was ‘poisoned’, as it were, with their time in captivity.
Dear
Reader, there are no coincidences with the Lord …
and so here we have Christ, the Son of God, although having the fulness
of the
Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9), Christ is in a ‘lower form’ of God
(Philippians 2:7-8), and therefore speaks a lower form of
language, the
Aramaic from Babylon … not Hebrew, the pure language of God.
Christ
on earth is an ever-present reminder to Israel of
Christ, God manifest in the flesh (1Timothy 3:16), that God has
lowered
himself to become a man, and speaks in Aramaic, with
specific
instances bearing this out as follows ...
Ephphatha
(Mark
7:34); Abba (Mark
14:36); Raca (Matthew 5:22); Rabboni (John 20:16)
Eli,
Eli, lama sabachthani (Matthew
27:46).
The
fallen nation of Hebrews, now speaking Aramaic, is
attended by the ‘lower’ form of God who speaks their language.
Of
course we are similarly reminded, that God also speaks
the Hebrew to Israel, as used with the following scripture … “And
it was
known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is
called in their
proper tongue (Hebrew), Aceldama, that is to say,
The field
of blood.” (Acts 1:19)
Even
on the cross, Christ, although God himself (1 John
5:7-8), speaks the lower language of Aramaic to God the Father (Matthew
27:46)
… Christ being in the likeness of sinful flesh (Romans 8:3).
Dear
Reader, although the ‘lower’ language of Aramaic was
spoken by Jesus as the Son of man, his divine virtue (Matthew
5:30),
being God himself, raises the girl.
CONCLUSION
…
Christ
could have raised the girl by ‘remote control’, if
he had wanted to, by not physically attending, but his appearance draws
attention to “ … the sin (of Israel) that doth
so easily
beset …” (Hebrews 12:1)… their unbelief as “…
they laughed
him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.” (Luke 8:53).
Furthermore
“…he put them all out …”
(Luke 8:54) … where they will stay until he puts them back in
them …
when, in the tribulation “… they shall look upon me whom they have
pierced.”
(Zechariah 12:10).
