“IS THE GREEK LANGUAGE INFERIOR TO ENGLISH?”

As in Judo, when an adversary is dropped to the floor with a simple leg swipe, so the inferior Greek language crashes to the mat at the hands of his superior English opponent.

“What! Errr? Eh? Duh? Shouldn’t it be the other way round?”

Yes Folks, this is the lie we’ve force fed for centuries … “The Greek is superior!”

The absolute fact is this … and beyond debate … the Greek language lacks the vocabulary, the subtleties, the nuances, the finer points, the rich details and far deeper meanings of the English.

Q: “Have you got proof?”
A: “Buckets of it!”

The vocabulary of the Greek New Testament … please note Dear Reader … not the Greek language … was only about 5,000 words.

The possible English vocabulary is between 500,000 and 1,000,000 words.

A simple case is as follows:

The Greek has a word “LOGIZOMAI” which describes the act of calculating, counting, numbering or crediting something into an account.

Which are the words used in the King James Bible being numbered, counted, reckoned, accounted and imputed as shown by the following verses …

“And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered (logizomai) with the transgressors.”
(Mark 15:28)

“Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted (logizomai) for circumcision?” (Romans 2:26)

“Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned (logizomai) of grace, but of debt.” (Romans 4:4)

“Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted (logizomai) to him for righteousness.” (Galatians 3:6)

“Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth (logizomai) righteousness without works,” (Romans 4:6)

Dear Reader, get your Websters 1828 Dictionary and look up the different meaning for the above five English words.

So what does this show?

1. It shows the Greek language is not as sophisticated as the English.

2. It shows the Greek language lacks the depth of expression of the English.

3. It shows the Greek language lacks the vocabulary of the English.

4. It shows the Greek language lacks the subtleties of the English.

5. It shows the Greek language lacks the nuances of the English.

6. It shows the Greek language lacks the finer points of the English.

7. It shows the Greek language lacks the rich details of the English.

8. It shows the Greek language lacks the deeper meanings of the English.

9. It shows the Greek language lacks the expression of exacts ideas and words of the English.

10. It shows the Greek language lacks the differences in meaning of the English.

And hence the chargrin … the annoyance, the distress and the humiliation … of the Greekophile who falsely attempt to shift the blame for translation difficulties onto the inconsistencies of the English.

Like keeping the lunatic son in the basement away from the public eye, the so called ‘expert’ King James Bible Corrector tries to cover up his emperor’s clothes with formal, dynamic and literal equivalence labels … knowing full well that Greek translation is not the ‘cut-and-paste’ science of simply substituting one word for another.

In fact, this is borne out by Greek translation into many of the vernacular languages.

The above is another form of the Greek Game mentioned on our website.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

Don’t ever let any body tell you that the Greek is superior to the English … the opposite is the case!

Don’t ever let any body tell you that the Greek is more exact than the English … the opposite is the case!

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

Leave the Greek for kiddies to impress each other with!
