“THE CHRISTIAN MAN’S 5G KRYPTONITE” 

Kryptonite is that mythical material that emits a unique and poisonous radiation that can render Superman weak enough to kill him.

Now Christian men also have their 5G kryptonite that is very real and just as destroying as Superman’s.

The 5G with the Bible’s responses … are as follows

1. GOLD … how much is enough

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
(1 Timothy 6:10)

2. GLORY … recognition and praise

“For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” (John 12:43)

3. GIRLS … enough said

“But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Matthew 5:28)  

4. GALA … sports, entertainment, movies, travel

“Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.”
(Proverbs 17:24)

5. GASTRIC … food and drink

“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” (1 Corinthians 9:27)

In addition, a man’s life passes through three stages … another 3G kryptonite

1. G etting on … making a way in the world, a career and so on

2. G etting honest … obeying the laws of the land

3. G etting honour … getting respect and recognition; philanthropy and so on

Added to all this, is the failure to understand the following verse …

“In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:” (Colossians 2:11).

In the common parlance, God leaves enough fleas on the dog to let it know that it is a dog.

While alive on earth, the flesh lusteth against the Spirit as stated …

“For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” (Galatians 5:17)

And all this happens till a man dies.

In other words, should a man get ahead of himself, God has a fool-proof plan to bring him back down to earth.

Although a saved man is saved, God has trapped that man’s saved soul in a sinful body … such that a Christian man is like a schizophrenic … having two personalities as Paul states …

“17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.” (Romans 7:17-20,21-24,25)

1. GOD’S PROVISION?

V 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

2. MAN’S DILEMMA?

V 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.” (Romans 7:17-20,21-24,25)

3. God’s solution?

A two pronged attack of non-conformity with the world while renewing the mind

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
