Number 1:
“An act of God”
“But your
eyes have seen all the great acts of
the LORD which he did. (Deuteronomy 11:7)
Israel
were reminded of the great acts of God … the
drowning of the Egyptian army in the Red Sea … and so on.
If that
happened today, Insurance Companies would
refuse to cover the billions of dollars of damage to Pharoah’s army, as
they
would label it an act of God.
Their
reasoning is that they are not responsible
for what God does.
However,
fortunately, God covers his own acts with
a life insurance of a different sort … God covers God’s acts …
that is …
although man is born a sinner, he can die a winner!
Number 2:
“All things are possible”
“But Jesus
beheld them, and said unto them, With
men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”
(Matthew
19:26)
Man, in
his own puffed up mind, likes to think that
all things are possible concerning his own abilities … but according to
the
Bible this is robbing God … as the all things are possible only
with God!
The Jews
were confronted with the impossible set of
rules of the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) …. and Jesus replies
that it was
possible with him ... that is … he was God in the flesh.
Now today,
if nothing was impossible for man, we
wouldn’t need God. Dear Reader, we should be thankful that impossible
things force
us to go to God.
Number 3:
“All things to all people”
“To the
weak became I as weak, that I might gain
the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all
means
save some.” (1 Corinthians 9:22)
This
phrase is mistaken to mean that Christians are
to compromise their doctrine and beliefs in order to get along with
people … to
get them saved.
A
Christian does not lie to make friends with a
liar … nor does he become worldly to win the world.
Christians
win people to the Lord by taking on different
roles of a teacher that explains the scriptures, a fisherman
that
fishes for souls, a farmer who tends to his crop, a shepherd
who
feeds the sheep or a soldier who goes to war for the Lord.
This is what it means to become all things to all men.
Number 4: “All Good!” “It’ll all work out for the best!”
“DEAR
CHRISTIAN … ARE YOU RIDING A MULE?”
