“ARE
MUSLIMS CORRECT THAT
‘ABRAHAM IS OUR FATHER AS
WELL?’ ”
In a
nutshell:
Abraham had two
sons … Isaac,
and Ishmael who had a daughter Mahalath.
Isaac had
two sons … Esau who married Mahalath producing the
Arab race,
and Jacob.
But only
Jacob
births the twelve tribes, the Jews, … called the children
of
the promise (Romans 9:8).
So it is
correct that the Muslim can very well claim that Abraham is their
father as “…That
in Isaac shall thy seed be called:” (Hebrews 11:18)
However
not ALL IN Isaac shall be called the children of
the
promise … as a study of the following will reveal:
“7 Neither,
because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In
Isaac
shall thy seed be called.
8
That is, They which are the children of the flesh (the Arabs),
these
are not the children of God: but the children of the promise (Jacob)
are
counted for the seed.
9
For this is the word of promise, …
12
It was said unto her, The elder (Esau) shall
serve the younger (Jacob).
13
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”
(Romans
9:7-9, 12-13)
Yes,
the Arab is in Isaac who is in Abraham … but it stops there as the
above
reveals …
Not ALL
OF Isaac shall be called the children of the promise … that is …
the
offspring of Isaac and Ishmael miss out on the promise to come.
Furthermore
we have the following verse from Matthew where Jesus addresses the
Pharisees
and Sadducees …
“And
think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our
father:
for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise
up children
unto Abraham.” (Matthew 3:9).
Here we
have Christ warning them that just because they are the children of the
promise
… that is part of the twelve tribes … it means nothing as they need fruits
meet for repentance (Matthew 3:8).
They
are not to be so cocky and high-minded, that an axe can’t be laid
unto their
roots (Matthew 3:10).
So
although the Arab can claim Abraham as their father, which he is, they
are not
the children of the promise.
And what
was the promise?
That at
Pentecost, the Jew, the twelve tribes, would be baptised with the Holy
Ghost (Acts 1:8; 2:33;
Acts 2:38) … with the Arabs to miss out.
