general and 13 kingdom of heaven parables
Parable #6 - “THE SOWER”
READ Matthew 13:3-6,7-10,11-14,15-18,19-22,23
This
is the 1st of the 13 kingdom of heaven
parables
It also has application to the kingdom of God
dispensation in Mark 4:2-5,6-9,10-13,14-17,18-20;
Luke 8:4-7,8-11,12-15
BACKGROUND:
In
445BC, with one Bible week equating to seven years (a prophetic
year being 360 days), God commanded that seventy weeks each of 7
years, would be determined upon Israel, that is … 70 weeks x 7
years = 490 years (Daniel 9:24-27).
This
time frame is broken into four time periods of (a) 7 weeks + (b)
62 weeks + (c) the mystery church age of about 2,000 years +
(d) 1 week = 70 weeks and is explained as follows:
#1. Seven
weeks of years is 7 x 7 = 49 years … the time it takes to restore
and build Jerusalem from 445BC to 396BC.
#2. Sixty
two weeks of years is 62 x 7 = 434 years … the time from the
building of Jerusalem in 396BC to Christ being cut off at the cross in 32AD.
#3. The
church age of approximately 2,000 years
#4. One
week of years is 1 x 7 = 7 years … this is the seven years of
tribulation of God’s wrath upon the earth, that takes place after the rapture …
called Daniel’s 70th week.
The
following Timeline will help (not drawn to scale):
Dear
Reader, people who hear about some new self-improvement program … say “The
U-Beaut Diet” or “Get Fit in 10 Days” … respond in one of four ways as follows:
#1. A total
rejection … “Nah! What a load of rubbish! That’s not for me!”
#2. Started
excitedly but don’t last long … maybe got bored?
#3. Begin
with purpose, but the pressures of modern life prove too much.
#4. Start,
persist and produce results
#2. On stony
places … the seed has minimal root growth … no plant no fruit (Matt 13:5)
#3. Thorns
choke the delicate emerging plants … still no fruit (Matthew 13:7)
#4. The
seed on good ground produces fruit (Matthew 13:8)
2. Your
righteousness must exceed that of
the Pharisees (Matthew 5:20).
3.
Saying “Thou fool” with no good
cause will mean hell fire (Matthew
5:22)
4. Lusting after women is adultery
and equal to the act (Matthew 5:27-28)
5. Pluck your eye out if necessary if it causes you to sin (Matthew 5:30)
6. There will be no
oaths
using heaven’s name (Matthew 5:33)
7. Limit your agreements to a ‘yes’ or ‘no’
(Matthew 5:37)
8. Don’t pay back evil
for evil
(Matthew 5:38-44) but go the extra mile (Matthew 5:41)
9. You have to be
perfect like God
(Matthew 5:48)
10. Give alms in secret (Matthew
6:1-4)
11. Pray in secret (Matthew 6:5-8)
12. Forgive others or God won’t
forgive you (6:14-1
13. Fast in secret (Matthew
6:16-18)
14. No hoarding up money or goods (Matthew 6:19-21, 24)
15. No
worrying about food and drink
(Matthew 6:25-33)
16.
Take no thought about tomorrow
(Matthew 6:34)
17. No hypocrisy (Matthew 7:1-5)
18.
Beware of false prophets (Matthew
7:15-18,19-22,23)
THE
KINGDOM OF GOD APPLICATION … CHRISTIAN APPLICATION
As a
man will have eternal security in this dispensation, it’s only the man’s works that
shall be tried by fire.
“Every man's work shall be made manifest:
for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the
fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide
which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work
shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved;
yet so as by fire.” (1 Corinthians 3:13-15)
And Dear Reader, have you considered that unlike
the kingdom application of only group #4 getting into Abraham’s bosom on death,
and then eventually the kingdom of God in heaven, groups #2, #3, and along with
of course, group #4, under today’s kingdom of God dispensation, will directly enter
the kingdom of God, being heaven itself.
#2. On stony
places … the seed has minimal root growth … still has roots … saved
but fruit.
#3. Thorns
choke the delicate emerging plants … has roots and delicate plant ….
saved but no fruit
#4. The
seed on good ground produces fruit … saved with roots,
plant and fruit.
