THE BIBLE 29 (STB 29)
“THE BOOK OF DANIEL”
God
reveals the Gentile history of the world BEFORE
it happens!
Beginning
at
Nebuchadnezzar (606 BC)
Ending
with
the 2nd coming
of Christ at Armageddon.
Over
2600 years!
Prophets
were
chosen of God, to tell the certain
future before it happened, with prophecy.
They would not predict the future,
as this would imply guesswork on the part of the prophet. God simply
used these
messengers, to tell what WOULD be
happening. No guessing needed!
The
books of the prophets, Isaiah to Malachi, cover about 400
years, 830-430BC approximately, when the Hebrew nation was in
decline.
THEIR
MISSION AND MESSAGE
To
try and save the
Hebrew nation from IDOLATRY and wickedness.
Failing
this, to announce to the nation, that they will
be destroyed.
But
not completely destroyed, as a remnant (a few left)
will be saved.
Out
of this remnant will come a Person who will bring all
nations to God.
That
person will be a great man who will one day arise
out of the family tree of David. The
prophets called him THE BRANCH. This
family tree of David, once the most powerful family in the world, was
cut down
in the days of the prophets, and disappeared. But
the family would comeback with this
man
called
THE BRANCH -
THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS (Rev
19:16)
Not
even understanding the full meaning and importance of
their words, the prophets were obedient.
There
are three
prophets whose mission were to other nations other than Israel
(ten
Northern tribes) and Judah (two Southern tribes), and these were JONAH to Assyria (Nineveh), OBADIAH to Edom
(Esau) and NAHUM to Assyria (Nineveh).
16
PROPHETS IN FOUR GROUPS
NORTHERN
KINGDOM CALLED ISRAEL had
the ten tribes, and lasted about 210
years, and the prophets during this period were Amos, Hosea.
The
destruction and captivity Northern kingdom went from 734-721BC.
They were taken to Assyria have
simply disappeared from the face of the earth.
SOUTHERN KINGDOM CALLED JUDAH had the two tribes of Judah and Benjamin, and lasted about
320
years,
and the prophets during this period were Joel,
Isaiah, Micah,
Jeremiah, Ezekiel,
Daniel,
Habakkuk, Zephaniah.
The
destruction and captivity of the Southern kingdom,
went from 606-586BC.
Taken to Babylon. Invading armies
didn’t kill and destroy everything at once, but slowly strangled their
captive
nations, with taxes, slaves and goods. Under their rule, they then left
the
very poorest in the land to struggle on.
RESTORATION OF THE NATION
made up of only Judah and Benjamin, NOW CALLED ISRAEL, happened from 536-444BC, and
the prophets
during this period were Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi.
OTHER
NATIONS were
ASSYRIA (Nineveh)
with the prophets Jonah and Nahum
and
EDOM (Esau)
with the prophet Obadiah

BACKGROUND
When
the ten Southern tribes of Judah were taken into
captivity by Babylon (606 BC – 586 BC), Daniel as a youth, was taken
and
trained, with three others, in the ways and customs of Babylon.
Because
he could interpret dreams, he was promoted to
very high office.
As a prophet who could foretell the future, his dreams and visions give us the outline of Gentile history from the time of Nebuchadnezzar, 606 BC, to the 2nd coming of Christ at Armageddon which occurs at the end of the seven year tribulation.

God’s
power in keeping Daniel and his three companions.
They were given understanding and wisdom above
all
the wise men in Babylon.
As
for these four children, God gave them knowledge
and skill in all learning and wisdom:
and Daniel had
understanding
in all visions and dreams.
Daniel 1:17

Nebuchadnezzar’s
dream of a man
32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, 33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
44
And
in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up
a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the
kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces
and
consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Daniel

This
stone, the Lord Jesus Christ himself, smashes and
destroys all the earth’s kingdoms – the European Union, China, Russia,
the
Arabs and so on, and this takes place at the battle of Armageddon
35 Then was the iron, the clay,
the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like
the chaff of
the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became

Chapter
3
Nebuchadnezzar
sets up his image to be worshipped
Daniel
(Beltshazzar) and three friends refuse to worship
the image
They
are delivered from the fiery furnace.
They
are promoted
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O
king. 18 But if
not,
be it known unto thee, O king, that we
will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast
set up. Daniel 3:17-18
25 He answered
and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking
in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of
the fourth is like the Son
of God. Daniel 3:25
30
Then
the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in
the province
of Babylon. Daniel 3:30
Chapter
4
Nebuchadnezzar
dreams again of a strong tree cut down leaving only a stump. He
becomes
a beast with bird’s feathers and claws and eats grass for 7 years
(Dan 4:10-16)
31
While
the word was in the king's mouth,
there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O
king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom
is departed from thee.
32
And
they shall drive thee from men, and
thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make
thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven
times shall pass over thee, until
thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth
it to
whomsoever he will.
33
The
same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and
he was driven from men, and did eat
grass as oxen, and his body was wet
with the dew of heaven, till his hairs
were grown like eagles' feathers, and his
nails like birds' claws. Daniel 4:28-33
Chapter
5
Belshazzar
and the writing on the wall
Here
is the list of kings that followed Nebuchadnezzar to
help you know who Belshazzar is:
Nebuchadnezzar
–
reigns for 44 years (606 BC – 562
BC)
Merodach
–
the drunken and immoral son of Nebuchadnezzar reigns for 2
years Neriglizzar – the brother-in-law of Merodach,
murders Merodach, and reigns for 4 years
Nabonidus - the son of Nebuchadnezzar’s 2nd wife, takes the
throne in 556 BC. Belshazzar – the son of Nabonidus,
takes the throne after Nabonidus
This
foolish fellow took all the sacred vessels from the
temple and drank wine to their idols. God wrote on the wall that the
Medes and
the Persians would capture his kingdom. So Darius the Mede took over.
Chapter
6 Delivered from the Lion’s den
Now
the 120 princes that Darius set in place were
offended by Daniel because he couldn’t be bought or bribed. So All the presidents of the kingdom, the
governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have
consulted
together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that
whosoever
They
caught Daniel praying to God and so he was thrown
into the lions’ den. But it backfired on the lot of them and they ended
up in
the lions’ den being ripped to shreds.
Chapter
7
Belshazzar’s
dream of 4 great beasts
These
great beasts, which are four, are four
kings, which shall arise out of the earth. But the
saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
Daniel 7:17-18
1st BEAST
A
lion with eagle’s wings depicts the Babylonian empire
from 606 BC - 536 BC.
2nd BEAST
A
bear with 3 ribs (Media,
Persia, Babylon) in its mouth depicts the Persian empire
from 536 BC – 332 BC.
3rd BEAST
A
leopard with 4 heads and 4 wings depicts the Grecian
empire form 332 BC – 64 BC
The
four wings represent the swiftness and rapid marches
of Alexander the great. In 13 years he conquered the world. The four
heads
stand for the 4 generals of Alexander that took over his kingdom.
4th BEAST
-
This
beast was different from the rest This beast
represents Rome
After
this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth
beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and
it had great iron teeth: it devoured and
brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet
of it:
and it was diverse from all the beasts
that were before it; and it had ten
horns. Daniel 7:7
The
little horn coming out of the ten other horns is the
antichrist;
Israel
and the saints will be persecuted and oppressed by
the antichrist before Christ comes at Armageddon. This period will be
the
tribulation and the antichrist will be the last world dictator. The ten
horns
stand for the ten world states/regions/areas to be under his control.
But
Christ will reign
I
saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of
man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the
Ancient of days, and they
brought him near before him. And there was given
him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and
languages, should serve him: his dominion is an
everlasting dominion, which shall
not pass away, and his kingdom that
which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14
Chapter
8
Belshazzar
has another vision of a ram (Media/Persia)
and
a he goat (The
Grecian Alexander the Great)
The
ram has two horns (Media and Persia) and the he goat
representing Alexander the great has a horn which is broken ie himself,
and is
repalced by four other horns which represent his 4 generals.
Verse
9 speaks of the little horn which is the antichrist
who takes away the daily sacrifice in the temple.
9 And out of one of them came forth
a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward
the east, and toward the pleasant
land.
10
And
it waxed great, even to the host of
heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the
ground, and
stamped upon them.
11
Yea,
he magnified himself even to the prince of the host,
and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and
the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12
And
an host was given him against the
daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth
to the
ground; and it practised, and prospered. Daniel 8:9-12
23
And
in the latter time of their kingdom,
when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of
fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall
stand up. (This
is the antichrist)
24 And his power shall be mighty,
but not by his own power: and he shall destroy
wonderfully, and shall
prosper, and practise, and shall
destroy the mighty and the holy people. (This
is Israel)
25
And
through his policy also he shall
cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his
heart,
and by peace shall destroy many: he shall
also stand up against the Prince
of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (He
shall be broken not by man but by God)
Daniel
8:23-25
Chapter
9
This
chapter is the most important in the Bible regarding the division of
the end
times.
At
the moment we are in the CHURCH age,
which
will be followed very shortly by the RAPTURE of the church, to be
followed by 7
years of God’s wrath called the TRIBULATION, to be followed by
ARMAGEDDON.
24 SEVENTY
WEEKS are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish
the transgression,
and to
make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to
bring in
everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and
to
anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore
and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah
the Prince shall
be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks:
the street shall be built again, and
the wall, even
in troublous times.
26 And AFTER THREESCORE AND TWO WEEKS shall Messiah
be cut off, but not for himself:
and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy
the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall
be with a flood, and unto
the end of the war desolations are
determined.
27 And he shall confirm
the covenant with many for ONE WEEK: and in the midst of the week he
shall cause the
sacrifice and
the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he
shall make
it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be
poured
upon the desolate. Daniel 9:24-27
A
week has
seven days but here it stands for 7 years.
Seventy
weeks therefore is 490 years and
is broken into three divisions:
7 weeks = 49 years – began at the command
to build and restore Jerusalem
under Ezra and Nehemiah
62 weeks = 434 years – begins at the building
of the wall of Jerusalem
and continues to the crucifixion of Christ where
he is cut off
at the cross.
From
32AD to the rapture is the mystery church age which
ends at the rapture of the church (Ephesians 3:1-9)
This
is where we are right now with the rapture about to happen
1 week = 7 years – This is the 7 years of great tribulation in the which
The Roman Prince,
the antichrist,
shall cause
the sacrifice and oblation to cease after the first three and a half years.
And
so at the end of the 490 years, we have
24
SEVENTY
WEEKS are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city,
to
finish the transgression, and
to
make an end of sins, and
to
make reconciliation for iniquity,
and
to
bring in everlasting righteousness, and
to
seal up the vision and prophecy, and
to
anoint the most Holy.
Dear
Reader, we are nearly at the rapture now,
after
which the wrath of God shall be poured out on the earth for 7 years.
Chapter
10
Daniel
sees Jesus Christ
5
Then
I lifted up mine eyes, and looked,
and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with
fine
gold of Uphaz:
6
His
body also was like the beryl, and
his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire,
and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass,
and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
Daniel 10:5-6 (See
Revelation 1:14-15)
What follows in the rest of the chapter is an account
of the angels of Michael,
the prince of Persia and the prince of Grecia
Chapter
11
This
chapter is an account of the wars that took place
between the king of the South (Egypt) and the king of the North (Syria)
during
the 400 years after the book of Malachi closes. These are against the
backdrop
of Persia and Alexander the great from Greece.
This
chapter ends Rome intervening and taking over (64BC)
and a description of the antichrist.
For
the ships of Chittim shall come
against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have
indignation
against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and
have
intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant. Daniel 11:30
31
And
arms shall stand on his part, and
they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall
take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the
abomination that maketh desolate.
32
And
such as do wickedly against the
covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know
their God
shall be strong, and do exploits.
33
And
they that understand among the
people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by
flame, by
captivity, and by spoil, many days.
34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
35 And
some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge,
and to
make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a
time appointed.
36
And
the
king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and
magnify
himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the
God of
gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that
that is
determined shall be done.
37
Neither
shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor
regard any
god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
38
But
in
his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his
fathers knew
not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious
stones, and
pleasant things. Daniel 11:31-38
The
following is the historical explanation of Chapter 11
There
are the battle between the king of the North
(Syria) and the king of the South (Egypt), with Antiochus Epiphanes
(167BC)
setting himself up in the temple, with Greece and Rome appearing on the
scene.
This is a complex description of history and uses much symbolism.
All
this only shows that God is the God of prophecy and calls things before
they
happen.
Verse
2 The three kings are Cambyses, Smerdis, Darius.
The fourth king shall be Xerxes the son of Darius. V3 A mighty king
shall stand
up – this will be Alexander the Great
V4
His kingdom broken is that it will be divided among
four generals when he dies and not to his family.
V5
The king of the South is Ptolemy Lagus from Egypt. One
of his princes is Seleucus Nicator who possessed Syria.
V6
The end of years has the king’s daughter Berenice
marry Antiochus Theos the king of Syria. She shall be given up means
that
Antiochus recalls his former wife to be his wife again, But hse fearing
that he
might call on Berenice again, poisons him and sets her own son
Callinicus on
the throne.
V7
Her brother Ptolemy Euergetes marches a great army
against Seleucus Callincus.
V8
Ptolemy Euergetes lives for a few more years.
V9
So Ptolemy comes into the kingdom of Callinicus and
shall return to Egypt where he hears of sedition against him.
V10
But the sons of Callincus raise an army. But not
being successful, Antiochus is proclaimed king and retakes Seleucia and
Syria
from Egypt from the South.
V11
So Ptolemy Philopater (Egypt) fights Antiochus who
retreats to Antioch V12 But Ptolemy kingdom was not strengthened.
V13-14
About 14 years later Antiochus returns to fight
but instead is defeated. V15 But he tries again and Ptolemy are not
able to
oppose him.
V16
The Jews supply and assist him and he favours them by
restoring the Levite priesthood.
V17
Antiochus wants to attack Egypt by fraud and proposes
a marriage between himself and Cleopatra which
doesn’t
eventuate.
V18-19
He then turns his face toward the isles of Rhodes,
Samos and so on but is stopped by one of his captains Acilius Glabrio
and expel
him from Greece. He then turns to his own land where he is opposed by
the
general populace. His manner of death is not certain.
V20
Then Seleucus Philopater succeeds his father
Antiochus. He tries to raise taxes to satisfy the
Romans but is
stopped and
murdered by his treasurer Heliodorus.
V21
This person is Antiochus Epiphanes who tries to
flatter everyone but gets no glory.
V22
The arms which were overthrown before him were his
competitors for the crown. The princes were Anias and Jason.
V23
Rome emerges on the scene and with a few people grew
strong. V24 Starting at the richest provinces, riches and bribery
abound.
V25
Syria marches against Egypt but can’t stand the
battle and loses.
V26-27
Both the kings of the North and South, about
180BC, though joining forces, do not prosper
V28-29
This is Antiochus Epiphanes, from the North, about
167BC, broke the Holy of Holies in the Jewish temple and sprinkled
pigs’ blood
all around the sanctuary. The temple was then consecrated to the god
called
Jupiter Olympius.
V30
Chittim is Rome and he is grieved.
V31
The Romans then stand up against Greece and they
pollute the temple and take away the daily sacrifice. V32 This is a
reference
to the antichrist
V33-34
These are the Jews that are defeated and fall but
are helped by Constantine V36-39 Refers to the antichrist exalting
himself.
V40-43
Egypt and Syria come against him but he defeats
them V44 This is Russia in the North
V45
The antichrist is defeated at Jerusalem and there are
none to help him.
Chapter
12
This
chapter is a description of the end times we are now in
But
thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time
of the
end: many shall run to and fro, and
knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4
1
And
at that time shall Michael stand up,
the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and
there shall
be a time of trouble, such as never was since
there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people
shall be
delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
The
7 year tribulation
2
And
many of them that sleep in the dust
of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
At
the end of the tribulation
3 And they that be wise shall
shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars
for ever and ever.
4
But
thou, O Daniel, shut up the words,
and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall
run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Currently
in this time
5
Then
I Daniel looked, and, behold, there
stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the
other
on that side of the bank of the river.
6
And
one said to the man clothed in
linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to
the end
of these wonders?
7 And I heard the man clothed
in linen, which was upon the waters
of the river, when he held up his right hand
and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall
be for a time, times, and an
half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of
the holy
people, all these things shall be finished.
Time
= 1 year Times = 2 years Half = ½ year Total: 3.5 years
8
And
I heard, but I understood not: then
said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
9
And
he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the
words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10
Many
shall be purified, and made white,
and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked
shall
understand; but the wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken
away, and the abomination that maketh desolate
set up, there shall be a thousand
two hundred and ninety days.
12
Blessed
is he that waiteth, and cometh
to the thousand three hundred and five
and thirty days.
13
But
go thou thy way till the end be: for
thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. Daniel
12:1-13
These
timings are a little hard to figure out and many
have speculated.
These
are known only to the Lord.

STUDY
THE BIBLE 29 (STB 29)
“THE
BOOK OF DANIEL”
God
reveals the Gentile history of the world BEFORE
it happens!
Beginning
at
Nebuchadnezzar (606 BC)
Ending
with
the 2nd coming
of Christ at Armageddon.
Over
2600 years!
Prophets
were
chosen of God, to tell the certain
future before it happened, with prophecy.
They would not predict the future,
as this would imply guesswork on the part of the prophet. God simply
used these
messengers, to tell what WOULD be
happening. No guessing needed!
The
books of the prophets, Isaiah to Malachi, cover about 400
years, 830-430BC approximately, when the Hebrew nation was in
decline.
THEIR
MISSION AND MESSAGE
To
try and save the
Hebrew nation from IDOLATRY and wickedness.
Failing
this, to announce to the nation, that they will
be destroyed.
But
not completely destroyed, as a remnant (a few left)
will be saved.
Out
of this remnant will come a Person who will bring all
nations to God.
That
person will be a great man who will one day arise
out of the family tree of David. The
prophets called him THE BRANCH. This
family tree of David, once the most powerful family in the world, was
cut down
in the days of the prophets, and disappeared. But
the family would comeback with this
man
called
THE BRANCH -
THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS (Rev
19:16)
Not
even understanding the full meaning and importance of
their words, the prophets were obedient.
There
are three
prophets whose mission were to other nations other than Israel
(ten
Northern tribes) and Judah (two Southern tribes), and these were JONAH to Assyria (Nineveh), OBADIAH to Edom
(Esau) and NAHUM to Assyria (Nineveh).
16
PROPHETS IN FOUR GROUPS
NORTHERN
KINGDOM CALLED ISRAEL had
the ten tribes, and lasted about 210
years, and the prophets during this period were Amos, Hosea.
The
destruction and captivity Northern kingdom went from 734-721BC.
They were taken to Assyria have
simply disappeared from the face of the earth.
SOUTHERN KINGDOM CALLED JUDAH had the two tribes of Judah and Benjamin, and lasted about
320
years,
and the prophets during this period were Joel,
Isaiah, Micah,
Jeremiah, Ezekiel,
Daniel,
Habakkuk, Zephaniah.
The
destruction and captivity of the Southern kingdom,
went from 606-586BC.
Taken to Babylon. Invading armies
didn’t kill and destroy everything at once, but slowly strangled their
captive
nations, with taxes, slaves and goods. Under their rule, they then left
the
very poorest in the land to struggle on.
RESTORATION OF THE NATION
made up of only Judah and Benjamin, NOW CALLED ISRAEL, happened from 536-444BC, and
the prophets
during this period were Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi.
OTHER
NATIONS were
ASSYRIA (Nineveh)
with the prophets Jonah and Nahum
and
EDOM (Esau)
with the prophet Obadiah

BACKGROUND
When
the ten Southern tribes of Judah were taken into
captivity by Babylon (606 BC – 586 BC), Daniel as a youth, was taken
and
trained, with three others, in the ways and customs of Babylon.
Because
he could interpret dreams, he was promoted to very
high office.
As
a prophet who could foretell the future, his dreams
and visions give us the outline of Gentile history from the time of
Nebuchadnezzar, 606 BC, to the 2nd coming of Christ
at Armageddon which occurs at
the end of the seven year tribulation.

1
God’s
power in keeping Daniel and his three companions.
They were given understanding and wisdom above
all
the wise men in Babylon.
As
for these four children, God gave them knowledge
and skill in all learning and wisdom:
and Daniel had
understanding
in all visions and dreams.

Daniel

the
Arabs and so on, and this takes place at the battle of Armageddon
35 Then was the iron, the clay,
the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like
the chaff of

3
Nebuchadnezzar
sets up his image to be worshipped
Daniel
(Beltshazzar) and three friends refuse to worship
the image
They
are delivered from the fiery furnace.
They
are promoted
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O
king. 18 But if
not,
be it known unto thee, O king, that we
will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast
set up. Daniel 3:17-18
25 He answered
and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking
in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of
the fourth is like the Son
of God. Daniel 3:25
30
Then
the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in
the province
of Babylon. Daniel 3:30
Chapter
4
Nebuchadnezzar
dreams again of a strong tree cut down leaving only a stump. He
becomes
a beast with bird’s feathers and claws and eats grass for 7 years
(Dan 4:10-16)
31
While
the word was in the king's mouth,
there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O
king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom
is departed from thee.
32
And
they shall drive thee from men, and
thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make
thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven
times shall pass over thee, until
thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth
it to
whomsoever he will.
33
The
same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and
he was driven from men, and did eat
grass as oxen, and his body was wet
with the dew of heaven, till his hairs
were grown like eagles' feathers, and his
nails like birds' claws. Daniel 4:28-33
Chapter
5
Belshazzar
and the writing on the wall
Here
is the list of kings that followed Nebuchadnezzar to
help you know who Belshazzar is:
Nebuchadnezzar
–
reigns for 44 years (606 BC – 562
BC)
Merodach
–
the drunken and immoral son of Nebuchadnezzar reigns for 2
years Neriglizzar – the brother-in-law of Merodach,
murders Merodach, and reigns for 4 years
Nabonidus - the son of Nebuchadnezzar’s 2nd wife, takes the
throne in 556 BC. Belshazzar – the son of Nabonidus,
takes the throne after Nabonidus
This
foolish fellow took all the sacred vessels from the
temple and drank wine to their idols. God wrote on the wall that the
Medes and
the Persians would capture his kingdom. So Darius the Mede took over.
Chapter
6 Delivered from the Lion’s den
Now
the 120 princes that Darius set in place were
offended by Daniel because he couldn’t be bought or bribed. So All the presidents of the kingdom, the
governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have
consulted
together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that
whosoever
They
caught Daniel praying to God and so he was thrown
into the lions’ den. But it backfired on the lot of them and they ended
up in
the lions’ den being ripped to shreds.
Chapter
7
Belshazzar’s
dream of 4 great beasts
These
great beasts, which are four, are four
kings, which shall arise out of the earth. But the
saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
Daniel 7:17-18
1st BEAST
A
lion with eagle’s wings depicts the Babylonian empire
from 606 BC - 536 BC.
2nd BEAST
A
bear with 3 ribs (Media,
Persia, Babylon) in its mouth depicts the Persian empire
from 536 BC – 332 BC.
3rd BEAST
A
leopard with 4 heads and 4 wings depicts the Grecian
empire form 332 BC – 64 BC
The
four wings represent the swiftness and rapid marches
of Alexander the great. In 13 years he conquered the world. The four
heads
stand for the 4 generals of Alexander that took over his kingdom.
4th BEAST
-
This
beast was different from the rest This beast
represents Rome
After
this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth
beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and
it had great iron teeth: it devoured and
brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet
of it:
and it was diverse from all the beasts
that were before it; and it had ten
horns. Daniel 7:7
The
little horn coming out of the ten other horns is the
antichrist;
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn,
before whom there were
three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this
horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a
mouth speaking great things. Daniel 7:8
Israel
and the saints will be persecuted and oppressed by
the antichrist before Christ comes at Armageddon. This period will be
the
tribulation and the antichrist will be the last world dictator. The ten
horns
stand for the ten world states/regions/areas to be under his control.
But
Christ will reign
I
saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of
man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the
Ancient of days, and they
brought him near before him. And there was given
him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and
languages, should serve him: his dominion is an
everlasting dominion, which shall
not pass away, and his kingdom that
which shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14
Chapter
8
Belshazzar
has another vision of a ram (Media/Persia)
and
a he goat (The
Grecian Alexander the Great)
The
ram has two horns (Media and Persia) and the he goat
representing Alexander the great has a horn which is broken ie himself,
and is
repalced by four other horns which represent his 4 generals.
Verse
9 speaks of the little horn which is the antichrist
who takes away the daily sacrifice in the temple.
9 And out of one of them came forth
a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward
the east, and toward the pleasant
land.
10
And
it waxed great, even to the host of
heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the
ground, and
stamped upon them.
11
Yea,
he magnified himself even to the prince of the host,
and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and
the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12
And
an host was given him against the
daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth
to the
ground; and it practised, and prospered. Daniel 8:9-12
23
And
in the latter time of their kingdom,
when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of
fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall
stand up. (This
is the antichrist)
24 And his power shall be mighty,
but not by his own power: and he shall destroy
wonderfully, and shall
prosper, and practise, and shall
destroy the mighty and the holy people. (This
is Israel)
25
And
through his policy also he shall
cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his
heart,
and by peace shall destroy many: he shall
also stand up against the Prince
of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (He
shall be broken not by man but by God)
Daniel
8:23-25
Chapter
9
This
chapter is the most important in the Bible regarding the division of
the end
times.
At
the moment we are in the CHURCH age,
which
will be followed very shortly by the RAPTURE of the church, to be
followed by 7
years of God’s wrath called the TRIBULATION, to be followed by
ARMAGEDDON.
24 SEVENTY
WEEKS are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish
the transgression,
and to
make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to
bring in
everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and
to
anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore
and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah
the Prince shall
be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks:
the street shall be built again, and
the wall, even
in troublous times.
26 And AFTER THREESCORE AND TWO WEEKS shall Messiah
be cut off, but not for himself:
and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy
the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall
be with a flood, and unto
the end of the war desolations are
determined.
27 And he shall confirm
the covenant with many for ONE WEEK: and in the midst of the week he
shall cause the
sacrifice and
the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he
shall make
it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be
poured
upon the desolate. Daniel 9:24-27
A
week has
seven days but here it stands for 7 years.
Seventy
weeks therefore is 490 years and
is broken into three divisions:
7 weeks = 49 years – began at the command
to build and restore Jerusalem
under Ezra and Nehemiah
62 weeks = 434 years – begins at the building
of the wall of Jerusalem
and continues to the crucifixion of Christ where
he is cut off
at the cross.
From
32AD to the rapture is the mystery church age which
ends at the rapture of the church (Ephesians 3:1-9)
This
is where we are right now with the rapture about to happen
1 week = 7 years – This is the 7 years of great tribulation in the which
The Roman Prince,
the antichrist,
shall cause
the sacrifice and oblation to cease after the first three and a half years.
And
so at the end of the 490 years, we have
24

Dear
Reader, we are nearly at the rapture now,
Chapter
10
Daniel
sees Jesus Christ
5
Then
I lifted up mine eyes, and looked,
and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with
fine
gold of Uphaz:
6
His
body also was like the beryl, and
his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire,
and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass,
and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
Daniel 10:5-6 (See Revelation 1:14-15)
