“THE DECLINE
IN SCHOLASTIC ABILITY
AND SKILLS”
Dear
Reader, if you are even vaguely aware, you will have to admit … standards
have dropped … there has been a decline in scholastic skills.
And
of course who can blame them?
The
other day at a local eating establishment, I was chatting to a young
fellow,
who had just finished school, serving up a box of chips for me (with
curry
gravy …YUM!) … and I said … “What are you doing next year?”
He
said “I don’t like study … my ATAR was sufficient to get to University
… but I
hate studying … I don’t know what I’ll do.”
And
of course, that can be normal for a lot of kids … ba’ I’z just’a gottza
thunkin’ about what he said.
The skools
have laid a perfect platform.
Reasons?
1.
“I’m bored … It has to
be fun”
2.
Smart phones produce Brain
Rot … yes folks … now an
official recognized scientific condition.
3.
The increased emphasis in STEM subjects …
the physics, chemistry, mathematics etc
corresponding with the slippery
slide of the downgrading of English
skills.
4.
Decline in English
standards… you know … ‘readin’; and ‘write’n; and parsin’;
and ‘vocab’; and Latin roots of words; and spelling books where you
were told
to go home and learn the spelling of ten words and so on.
5.
The influx of Aboriginal Culture
Speak … for example …
bran
nue dae … Australian Aboriginal
for brand new day … not to mention “My kultcha is equally important as
your
kultcha”
6. The
King James English … WHAT’S THAT???!!!
…
and the list goes on and on and on.
So
much so, that now, people, in their thongs and T-shirts, attending
church, do
not take paper Bibles with them, but have a Bible App on their smart
phones …
you can bet your bottom dollar … it’s not a King Jimmie!
But
here’s the point I am trying to make …
With
the precise and exacting necessity … and it is an absolute requirement
of
accessing banks, information and government departments … in the DOT
COM WORLD … in which we MUST live and
breathe … the accuracy of God’s words
have fallen into the gutter … they don’t matter any more.
As
the emphasis now is on getting man’s words right … and we must … there
is no
time anymore for studying The King James Bible … God’s final written
authority
that is inerrant, infallible, inspired and perfect.
“Look
Mate! I don’t have time for that … kids, family, job, work, stress … JUST
SLOP ME UP ANY OLD TRANSLATION … my brain is
so tired and worn out … God’s a God
of love … he’ll understand … I’m overweight, over=tied, frazzled, can’t
sleep …
sorry God but you’ll have to get in line … anyhow, that’s why we pay
the Pastor
… it’s his job!”
CASE IN POINT:
“But if the
ministration of
death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that
the children of Israel could not
stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance;
which
glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit
be RATHER glorious?” (2 Corinthians 3:7-8)
Although
the law of Moses is death and a curse (Galatians 3:10, 13) … but
glorious … how
much more is getting saved and having our spirit born again by the
indwelling
Holy Ghost … that is RATHER glorious.
Dear
Reader, look up the meaning of the word “rath” in a
Websters
Dictionary.
RATH: a
mountain, a mound, a hill, a castle
So
here’s the thing Dear Reader, if the law of Moses can be seen to be on flat
plain, the thing that exceeds it is Christ’s liberty that
comes from his
death on the cross … it is in comparison … as a mountain that
rises above Moses.
As
the scripture goes on for further clarity and exactness, for the
description
and meaning of the word “rather” …
“For if the ministration of
condemnation be glory, much more doth the
ministration of
righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious
had no
glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. For if
that which is done
away was glorious, much more that which
remaineth is glorious.”
(2 Corinthians
3:9-11)
QED Folks … RATHER means MUCH MORE
And
furthermore ‘excelleth’
… that is … continuous, on-going,
never-stopping, with no breaks … it is not a
staccato episodic glory.
RATHER? An excelling which
never ever ever stops.
