“TYPES
OF CHRIST”

“JEPHTHAH”
The
Bible is full of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Old Testament and
the New
… either as a type or shadow, as it were … or in the flesh.
Indeed
if you study hard enough, many characters and events of the Old
Testament, are types
of Christ, reflecting his nature, actions and intentions.
Jesus
Christ is to be found in nearly every page of the Bible.
Indeed,
the theme of the Bible is Jesus Christ as the was, is
and is
to come (Revelation 1:4).
Yes
Dear Reader, as you read the stories in the Old Testament, you will
find yourself
saying over and over “Wow! That’s just like Jesus Christ!”
PRECIS:
Jephthah,
a judge in Israel, was born of a harlot and rejected
by
his family, but asked to deliver Israel from her enemies. He is
heralded
as a deliverer, with the people wanting to obey him.
Made a promise
to sacrifice the first out of house as a burnt
offering and
keeps his promise with a willing sacrifice, by
sacrificing his
only daughter. He reclaims taken land and Israel mourn
his daughter’s
death every year. He defeated his internal enemies and his pretend
friends were found out.
