Dear
Reader, there’s a common phrase that has a lot of truth … like
father like
son.
Here
is a heads-up of where we will be going with this article …
Satan
the king of pride (Job
41:34) gives birth to Westcott & Hort who give birth to the
NIV,
NASB, NKJV, Legacy versions
The
point of this article is about PRIDE.
Satan, being the king of
pride, has
his followers with their versions, that when proven to
be false,
rarely change their mind. Why? God won’t let them.
The
offspring are just like their father … the apples do not fall far form
the
tree.
Dear
Reader, if you are a Christian, you must keep in mind the appearance of
evil
not just the form
(1 Thessalonians 5:22)
Question: “Who were Westcott
and Hort
(W&H)?
Answer: Two unsaved Bible
critics.
Armed
with the philosophy that “there is no perfect Bible”, and with a nasty
and deadly
hate for the King James Bible, they produced a totally new
English Bible.
The
bastard offspring of their Bible has resulted in the NIV, NASB, Good
News, New
King James, Legacy Version
… along with 300+ others.
So
it should come as no surprise, that W&H’s beliefs and
characteristics be
passed down to those Christians who use and believe the versions.
What
did these men believe?
1. W&H believed that
their
manuscripts Vaticanus and Sinaiticus were superior
because they
were “older”.
Now,
they are saying that more manuscripts have been found since 1611, but
there
have been NO NEW READINGS … no new information!
In
discovering that these manuscripts even disagreed with each other, they
cobbled
together their own text … which has only sought to water down and
dilute many
of the bedrock doctrines upheld by Christians.
Fact:
As is the
sad case,
the minority overrule the majority … and the source of all this is
Satan being
the angel of PRIDE (Job 41:34; 2 Corinthians 11:14).
Christians
when faced with this fact, stand on their pride … refusing to submit to
the
truth.
3.
Hort did
not believe
in creation, and had great admiration for Charles Darwin.
Fact:
Today’s
Bible critics
also believe in evolution … that the Bible is evolving into the
Amplified, the NIV, the NASB, Legacy and NKJV.
4.
Hort was
more
addicted to Greek philosophy than scripture.
Fact:
Bible
critics also
love their Bibles with no hell … they have hades … the Greek
idea for
the departed dead.
5. Hort was not sure there
was the Devil.
Fact:
Bible
critics also
love their versions where Satan can not be found in the form of
Lucifer.
6. W&H believed in purgatory
Fact:
Bible
critics in
their church services rarely mention the word “hell” preferring the use
of the
successive stages of a purifying processes in hades after death …
leading to a
second chance at salvation.
7. Hort believed there was repentance
after death.
Fact:
Bible
critics are now
entertaining the same possibility.
8. Hort believed in baptismal
regeneration by water.
Fact:
Dear
Reader, why on
earth do churches fool around with water if they purport to follow
Paul?
(1 Corinthians 1:17; 11:1)
9. Hort had an acute interest
in the occult.
Fact:
Churches
are
following down the same path with mindless hand waving that accompanies
singing,
along with repeated phrases designed to block out the logical and
rational
Broca’s area of the brain, with the end result that power and a sound
mind is
watered down.
10.
W&H
were devotees
of the Catholic Oxford Movement.
Fact:
Churches
are now
joining Catholic churches in World Days of Prayer.
11.
Westcott
believed heaven
was state of mind and not a literal place.
Fact:
Churches
can’t have
it both ways with a heaven but no hell … only hades. How can you have
one and
not the other?
12.
Westcott
endorsed the
Jesuit plan to slowly introduce the ways of Rome into the minds of
Christians
and familiarize them with the High Church” atmosphere, thereby with the
“little
by little” approach, allow these Roman ideas to intertwine
themselves with
the worship service … for example elevate the table of the Lord a few
inches
above the level of the floor.
The
Roman motto of go gently and above all with not too much zeal …
“surtout,
pas trop de zele”.
The
end result being that the authority of the church can be rendered equal
to the
Bible.
Fact:
That is
what happens
with Church Constitutions … unbiblical rules and regulations … water
baptisms,
tithing and so on.
13. John 14:2
“In
my Father’s house are many mansions …”
(John 14:2 King James
Bible)
“In
my Father’s house are many rooms/abiding/dwelling places …”
(John 14:2
NIV, NASB, Legacy Version)
Why
the watered down terms?
To
support the false idea that heaven was not the final resting place … as
there
are resting places along the road where travellers find refreshment …
with the
larger hope being a probation after this life, such as a time of
purifying, by
fire or otherwise, thereby insuring another opportunity of salvation to
all
men.
With
the implied inferiority of the King James Bible, people line up around
the
block for the versions and love to have it so.
The
textual critic of the King James Bible is like a little child standing
behind
the steering wheel of a car, who doesn’t really care where he is going,
just as
long as he is doing the driving.
Once
the lie of the versions has been accepted, pride makes the decaying
process
almost irreversible.
Scholars
may have the damning evidence before them, but their pride will never
allow
them to admit their wrong.
It’s
a dangerous spirit that ignores the facts just because of a “holier
than thou
attitude” which teaches that “anyone who is right must be gentlemanly.”
People
overlook the truth because they don’t like the package it is wrapped
in.
