QUESTION: “WHAT DID THE PROPHET HABUKKUK SEE?”

ANSWER: “HE SEES THE 1,000 YEAR MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST”

 EXPLANATION:

HABAKKUK
This prophecy belongs to just before the Babylonians, also called the Chaldeans, take Judah captive in 606 BC. The Babylonians were coming Westward … they were on a mission from God … although unbeknown to them (Habakkuk 1:3) but had not arrived yet at Judah (Habakkuk 3:16 )

 Table of Events

Chapter 1:1 – 2:11 Habakkuk’s 1st complaint
Habakkuk complains to God that Judah is to be destroyed for its wickedness, by the Babylonians who are even more wicked than Judah, and he can’t see any justice in that.
God answers Habakkuk and says he has a purpose in the whole thing that Babylon should invade and capture Judah.

Chapter 2:12 – 2:20  Habakkuk’s 2nd complaint
Habakkuk acknowledges that Judah needs punishment for her sins, and should be punished, and asks God for further clarity and enlightenment on the matter. God answers by saying that although the Babylonians are filled with the blood of other nations, she shall in turn, be destroyed herself and Israel will rule, filling the earth.
Martin Luther became converted when he saw that men should live by faith (Habakkuk 2:2-4 ), and this is the gift of God, that, no matter how dark things seem and are, we can be so sure of God as to the outcome.
So for God’s people, Israel, and indeed Christians, there is a wonderful future. Although it may be a way off, it is absolutely sure. THIS IS TO LIVE BY FAITH! In the midst of gloom and despair, Habakkuk was extremely confident in God’s ways.

Chapter 3 Habakkuk’s prayer
Habakkuk cries out to God to do his wonders as of old. He is quietly resigned, and confident of the fact, that God has Israel’s eternal security at heart (v16-19).

 In summary:

 HABAKKUK 607BC
