“DEAR
PREACHER, WILL YOU CONTINUE
TO BE A ZACHARIAS DUMB-Y?
Yes
Dear Reader, I am sure you are all familiar with the story of Zacharias, the father of John the
Baptist
(Luke 1:5-79).
Zacharias
serves in the temple to burn incense,
as Aaron once did, applied to the lamps that Aaron has lit
(Luke 1:9;
Exodus
30:7-8).
Like
a rose that is crushed to release its perfume, incense is a figure of the perfumed
and fragrant life of the Lord Jesus
Christ, brought about
through his life of suffering and agony … and all to please his Father.
So
here we have three
things … Jesus being the light
of the world represented by the light
of the lamps
(John 1:9); the heat
of the lamps representing Christ’s suffering his burning
on the “I thirst” cross (John 19:28); and Jesus’ fragrant and sweet
life,
represented by the incense,
being a sweet
smell to
God (Exodus
31:11)
So
an angel of the Lord appears on the right hand of the altar of incense,
with the
glad tidings, that Zacharias will be a father. but Zacharias is
troubled and
becomes fearful (Luke 1:12) … his mind
being flooded with doubts of his own reasoning … too
old, wife stricken
in years and so on (Luke 1:18).
And
so disbelieving God’s words, God strikes him dumb
for about nine months or more.
Anyhow,
eventually his tongue is loosed when
he finally repents, and believes God that he will be a father, and that
the
name of his son will be John (Luke 1:63-64).
Going
against popular opinion (Luke 1:59-61,62-64), God again fills
a believing
Zacharias
with the Holy Ghost … having a prophecy about
the future Lord Jesus
Christ that …
Christ
will redeem his people; be a horn of salvation; prophesied
by the holy prophets; to save
Israel form their enemies; perform the mercy promised
to our fathers; remember his holy covenant;
Christ the child, shalt be called the prophet
of the Highest; called the dayspring;
to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of
death; guide
his people’s feet into the way of peace
(Luke 1:68-70,71-74,75-78,79).
So what would Zacharias say
to the modern preacher?
“Believe God’s words or he will
strike you dumb.”
Their response? “God has
not struck me dumb, I can still speak.”
And
has Zaharias’s warning to the modern day preacher been effective?
Mmmmm!
About as effective as a grasshopper hurtling head-first into a
windscreen …
attempting to stop a car doing one hundred clicks.
So
here’s the problem, today’s preachers … in not believing the words of
the King
James Bible, are choosing and preaching, the strange incense (Exodus 30:9) … the human
merit of false
scholarship
of the versions that are substituted for
Christ’s merit.
Dear
Reader, the modern preacher offers up to God the strange incense of the ESV and NLT for God’s acceptance … in
competition with,
and instead of, the words of pure incense
in the King James Bible.
But
the explanation is quite simple … unlike Zacarias who rejected popular
opinion (Luke
1:59-61,62-64), the modern-day preacher suffers from the fear of man, and rejection
by his congregation, should he believe the pure words of the King James
Bible …
in combination with the fact, that his flock will not endure Pauline sound doctrine
(Proverbs 29:25; 2 Timothy
4:3).
Indeed,
the modern preacher would be swayed by the crowd into naming the son
Zacharias
instead of God’s words of John.
However,
rejecting popularity and money, God’s preachers will stand against all,
as they
believe God’s words … and not man’s.
But
of course now, the horse had bolted with 99.99% of preachers today
already
believing, and preaching, the strange incense from the ESV, NlT, NIV
and dozens
more like them.
The
result? They may as well be struck dumb
as they preach from the head and not from the belly …
“He that believeth
on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall
flow
rivers of living water.” (John 7:38)
Their
preaching will be from the head and not the belly, and will NOT have …
1.
The brightness and light
of God’s glory (Hebrews 1:3)
2.
The heat of “I thirst” cross
preaching (John 19:28)
3.
The sweet smelling incense
of the pure words of the Authorized King James Bible.
They
will put on an acting performance with
false
emotion in
attempt to sway the crowd … offering the strange incense of the corrupt ESV, NLT and may others.
As
Paul says “But I
will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not
the speech of them which are puffed
up, but the power.” (1 Corinthians 4:19)
Moral of the story:
Believe
the words of God or God will strike you AS GOOD AS DUMB; and remove you from his
temple like Zacharias,
until you repent.
Indeed, “Jesus answered and said
unto him, If a man love
me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will
come
unto him, and make our abode with him.” (John 14:23)
