IS JESUS CHRIST GOD?
"For
there are three that
bear record in
heaven,
the Father, the Word,
and the
Holy
Ghost: and these three are
one."
1John
5.7
Many cults
and sects like the Jehovah's Witnesses,
Christadelphians and Mormons, claim Jesus Christ is not God, but He was
a
created being but not the Creator. These
cults
won't have the King James Version as their
final authority but insist on their own
traditions
and other writings.
"Making
the word of God of
none effect through your tradition.. "Mark7:13
Now Buddha
is not essential to Buddhism
or
Mohammed to Islam but the person of
Jesus
Christ, as God, is essential to Christianity.
Jesus is
Christianity!
God had to
satisfy the breaking of His
laws with
His own righteousness.
He
couldn't have done it with a created
being, it
had to be Himself - in
the form
of Jesus Christ.
We'll look
at all the Scriptures that prove
beyond all
doubt, that Jesus Christ is God

"In the
beginning was the Word, and the
Word was
with God, and the Word was
God ...And the
Word was made flesh, and

O God, is for

THESE
POINTS SHOULD HELP YOU DISPROVE THE THEORY THAT JESUS ISN'T GOD
1.
If Christ isn't God He shouldn't have accepted the worship of
Thomas (John 20:28).
Jesus would have been lying by pretending to be God.
2.
The Jews killed Jesus - said he was God. John 5:18 "God was His
Father...
equal with God."
3.
If Jesus isn't God why does Scripture give him equal status in the
creation of the universe? (Genesis
1:1 and Col 1:16)
4.
If Jesus isn't God, how come He can forgive sins - God forgives sins.
Matt 9:6.
5.
Why did He teach that all men should worship Him as they do the
Father?
John 5:20-23 - this would be
blasphemy.
THE
THREE PERSONS OF THE
TRINITY
The
following chart shows some of the names and attributes used by the
Scriptures
to describe the three members of the Trinity.
To
ascribe any of these names to anyone but God would be blasphemous.
The
Scriptures clearly show that the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy
Spirit to be
all one and the same - one God yet three distinct Persons.

A
COMPARISON OF JEHOVAH and JESUS
The
Jehovah's Witnesses deny that Jehovah or God of the Old Testament is
Jesus Christ of the New Testament. The following chart shows some names
and
attributes of Jehovah or God that the Bible also uses to describe Jesus
Christ.
To ascribe these names or powers to anyone but God would be
blasphemous, yet
the Bible clearly ascribes all of them to Jesus Christ.
These
Scriptures point to Jesus
and Jehovah as being one and the same the great "I AM"

ANCIENT
HERESIES REVIVED
JW's,
Mormons and Christadelphians
are nothing but the revived heresies of the first few centuries: Arianism
(denied the full deity of Christ;) Apollinarianism (denied
the full
humanity of Christ); Nestorianism (denied the union of the two
natures);
Eutycheanism (denied the distinction of the two natures). THE
ATHANASIAN CREED, compiled by the church fathers in the
early
centuries settled the Deity issues, is as follows:
"We
worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity In unity; Neither
confounding the Persons: nor dividing the substance.
For
there is one Person of the Father: another of the Son: and another
of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of
the Holy
Ghost, is all one: the Glory equal, the Majesty coeternal. Such as the
Father
is: such is the Son: and such is the Holy Ghost. The Father uncreated:
the Son
uncreated: and the Holy Ghost uncreated. The Father Incomprehensible:
the Son
Incomprehensible: and the Holy Ghost Incomprehensible. The Father
eternal: the
Son eternal: and the Holy Ghost eternal. And yet they are not three
eternals:
but one eternal. As also there are not three uncreated: nor three
incomprehnsibles, but one uncreated and one incomprehensible. So
likewise the
Father is Almighty: the Son Almighty: and the Holy Ghost Almighty. And
yet they
are not three Almighties: but one Almighty. So the Father is God: the
Son is
God: and the Holy Ghost Is God. And yet they are not three Gods: but
one God.
So likewise the Father is Lord: the Son Lord: and the Holy Ghost Lord.
And yet
not three Lords: but one Lord. For like as we are compelled by the
Christian
verity (truth): to acknowledge every Person by himself to be God and
Lord: So
we are forbidden to say, There are three Gods, or three Lords. The
Father is
made of none: neither created , nor begotten. The Son Is of the Father
alone:
not made, not created: but begotten. The Holy Ghost Is of the Father
and of the
Son: neither made, nor created, nor begotten: but proceeding. So there
is one
Father, not three Fathers: one Son, not three Sons: one Holy Ghost, not
three
Holy Ghosts. And in this Trinity none is afore, or after another, none
is
greater, or less than the another. But the whole three Persons are
coeternal
and coequal. So that in all things as aforesaid: the unity in Trinity,
and the
Trinity in Unity, is to be worshipped. He therefore that will be saved,
must
thus think of the Trinity.
Furthermore
it is necessary to everlasting salvation: that he also
believe rightly the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. For the right
Faith
is, that we believe and confess: that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of
God, is
God and Man; God, of the Substance of the Father, begotten before the
worlds:
and Man, of the Substance of his Mother, born in the world. Perfect
God: and
perfect man, of a reasonable soul and human flesh subsisting. Equal to the Father, as touching his
Godhead: and inferior to the Father as
touching his Manhood. Who although he be God and Man; yet he is not
two, but
one Christ. One, not by the conversion of the Godhead into flesh: but
by taking
of the Manhood into God. One altogether, not by confusion of Substance:
but by
unity of person. For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one man: so
God and
Man is one Christ."
A
VERY THOROUGH STATEMENT
OF
THE DEITY OF CHRIST,
GOD AND
THE HOLY SPIRIT.
1. Both
are referred to as the: "FIRST AND THE LAST" GOD: "...I am
the first, I also am the last." Isaiah
48:12 "I am the
first, and I am the last... " Isaiah 44:6 JESUS: "...the
first and the last..." Revelation 2:8 "...I am the first and the
last..." Rev 1:17 2. "ALPHA
AND OMEGA" and "THE
BEGINNING AND THE END" GOD: "...I am
Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end..." Revelation 21:6 JESUS: "I am
Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end...." Revelation 22:13 "I am
Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending..." Revelation 1:8 |
MORE PROOF?
For
example take the verse in Titus 2:13: "Looking
for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and
our
Saviour Jesus Christ "
This of
course refers to the Rapture when
Jesus will come back for
those who
believe
When this
argument was put
forward, a certain rule of Greek grammar was still undiscovered. An
expert in
Greek grammar, Mr Granville-Sharpe, discovered the
following
Greek grammatical rule in the late 18th century:
"When
there are two nouns
in the same case connected by "and", with the first noun having_ the
definite article "the" and the second noun not having the article,
the second noun refers to the same thing the first noun does and is a
further
description of it." Case proven! "the great God" is the same
person as "our Saviour Jesus Christ" God's word is always true.
"...Professing themselves to be wise they became fools..."Romans 1:22
WANT
MORE?
"But
unto
the Son he saith, Thy Throne, O God, is for ever and ever
..."
Hebrews 1:8 (God is
talking to Jesus Christ)
Could you
imagine that God would
call anyone God if they weren't? Was God lying? Here we have God
talking to
God, this is God the Father addressing God the Son. One God but three
Persons
(including the Holy Spirit).
Anyone who
refuses to see that
Jesus Christ is God and that the Holy Spirit is God is either:
1.
Willingly
ignorant ........or
2. A cunning deceiver.
