DOES GOD EXIST?

THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING QUESTION, BUT DID YOU KNOW, THAT IT'S NEVER ASKED BY ANYONE WHO HAS DIED. THIS QUESTION IS ONLY ASKED BY PEOPLE WHO ARE STILL LIVING. YOU SEE, PEOPLE NOW DEAD KNOW FOR SURE THAT GOD IS GOD - ALWAYS WAS GOD AND ALWAYS WILL BE GOD.

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW THE QUESTION SCREAMED IN AGONY BY EVERYONE WHO HAS DIED AND GONE TO HELL?

"WHY, OH WHY, DIDN'T I BELIEVE IN GOD AND RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST AS MY SAVIOUR?"

In this paper, we'll give you NINE REASONS to believe the God of the Bible. If at the end of reading this, if you still don't think there is a God, it's not because you can't believe but because you won't believe.

“... for l am God, and there is none else; l am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and l will do all my pleasure.”  (Isaiah 46:9-10)

1. GOD - WRITTEN ON NATURE

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. "

Psalm 19:1

Now here's a little test for you:

Just suppose you took hold of an old-fashioned watch (you know, one with cogs, screws, wheels, bits and pieces etc) and dismantled it into all its separate parts - lets say there are three hundred at a guess - and you place them in a shoe box and sealed the lid.

You then shook the box for two weeks then opened the box. Would the watch be back together again? No?

Question: "How long would the box have to be shaken for the watch to be returned to its original self and in perfect working order? It's ridiculous to think that it could ever be re-assembled this way.

But should a watchmaker appear, then that would be a different story. Now the universe is far more complicated than a watch and we are told (by those who won't believe in a Creator) that it happened by chance! These people would also have you believe that a Concise Oxford English Dictionary could come about from an explosion in a printing factory.

2. GOD - WRITTEN ON CONSCIENCE

"Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness..."

(Romans 2:15)

It's amazing isn't it - you could go to every race and tribe on this earth and you would find that there are the same rules of right and wrong, good and bad. For example, not stealing from someone else is a universal law, telling the truth is another and so on. How did these laws come into being? The Bible tells us that God placed them in everyone's hearts. That's another reason to know that there is a God.

3. GOD - WRITTEN ON STONE

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and l will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which l have written... " (Exodus 24:12)

Historical fact: God gave Moses the law on tables of stone, carved out by His hand into rock which Moses then took back to the Israelites.

4. GOD - REVEALED IN CHRIST THE LIVING WORD

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us ... " (John1:1,14 a)

There we have it! Absolute proof that there is a God.

The Jews were inflamed because Jesus said he was God when he uttered the words "Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. " (Luke 5:20). You see, only God could forgive sins. So right here, either Jesus was a liar or He was telling the truth.

Also when Thomas was talking to Jesus, he said “...My Lord and my God.” (John 20:28). Here, Jesus never refuted Thomas and so claimed He was God.

5. GOD - REVEALED IN THE ENTIRE SCRIPTURES "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them,

O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."

( Psalms 12:6,7)

Jesus is speaking when He also says "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. " (Matthew 24:35).

Right here in these two passages we have the promise of God and Jesus (who is God) claiming to preserve His words. This has been done in the inerrant King James Bible.

6. GOD - WRITTEN ON THE HEART “...saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people..." (Hebrews 8:10) Here God states His intentions by saying that He will place Himself into the hearts of His people. This is borne out by history time and time again as God rescues them and will be shown yet again as history is poised to enter the Great Tribulation of seven years. This will be marked by a seven year Peace Treaty between Israel and surrounding nations.

7. GOD - REVEALED THROUGH CHRISTIANS AS LIVING EPISTLES

"Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. "
(2 Corinthians 3:2-3)

Indeed at one time in the early centuries when the Christians were undergoing intense persecution and torture by the Romans, one in ten people in the known world, were Christians.

8. PROPHECY PROVES GOD EXISTS

The following chart shows the prophecies of the Old Testament concerning Jesus Christ & His fulfillment in the New Testament. As we shall see, the odds of this happening by chance are impossible.

There are 845 quotes from the Old Testament in the New Testament of which 333 especially refer to Jesus Christ.

There are also 456 details of Jesus Christ's life that are predicted in the Old Testament,  which were fulfilled to the letter at His first coming.

It has been worked out that the chance of just 8 prophecies about Jesus Christ coming true is 1 in 10,000,000,000,000,000. This is the equivalent to getting a blind­folded man to select a secretly marked dollar coin out of all the dollar coins that would cover the State of Victoria, Australia to a depth of 600mm (2 feet).

 9. PROVE THAT GOD EXISTS  YOURSELF

How can you do that? Simply receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour. "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13). 

Do you know what will stop you doing this in the immediate short term? Your pride, your love of sin or your love of your own plans. No-one in their right mind wants to have eternal torment in hell when they die and so I believe most people would like to be saved ..... and they're going to do it .......one day! Don't delay one minute more, call on Jesus Christ to save you. Pray something like this:

 "Dear God. I'm a sinner and I deserve your eternal wrath in hell. But I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins.
I can't save myself only you can. Please save me now. Thank you."
