“THE
BELIEFS OF ETHELBERT WILLIAM BULLINGER (1837 -
1913)”
1.
He believed that God’s dispensations are God’s
‘administrations’ with distinct and exact time periods …
however you
can’t cut up God’s time frames into dispensations with a sharp knife
like a
Salami sausage … as many times they overlap … as in the Book of Acts.
2. He
believed the church began
with Paul after Acts 28:28 … however there are four churches in the
Bible …
which one? …. the old testament one with the church in the desert;
the
one Jesus speaks of; the Pentecost one in Acts 2:47 or Paul’s
churches? As the following scriptures show …
“This is
he, that was in the church in the
wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and
with
our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:” (Acts
7:38)
“Now about
that time (about 2-3
BC) Herod the
king stretched forth
his hands to vex certain of the church.” (Acts 12:1)
Jesus says
“And if he shall neglect to hear
them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the
church, let
him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.” (Matthew 18:17)
“Praising
God, and having favour with all the
people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be
saved.” (Acts
2:47) … soon
after Pentecost
“Gaius
mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth
you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a
brother.” (Romans
16:23) … Paul’s
church.
3. He
believed the Gospel could
be seen in the stars … the Bible says different …
Thou art
wearied in the multitude of thy counsels.
Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly
prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that
shall come
upon thee. Isaiah 47:13
4. He
believed Christ died on the torture
stake … instead of cross … despite the fact the Bible has seventy
eight
references to the cross in the Bible. eg Matthew 27:32 and so on.
5. He
believed four thieves were
crucified with Christ not two … despite what the Bible said … “Then
were
there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and
another on the
left.” (Matthew 27:38)
6. He
believed in a flat earth
… say no more!
7. He
believed in the death of
the soul … whereby the soul sleeps between death and its
resurrection …
which is not found anywhere in the Bible.
8. He
believed in a type of ‘Pre-Gap’
theory … where God created all humanity … but God then created Adam
and Eve
on the eight day.
In
conclusion:
Dear
Reader, it’s easy to get saved … however studying to show yourself
approved
unto God is a different kettle of fish (2 Timothy 2:15).
His companion
should have been The King James Bible … not his own Companion
Bible.
