“TYPES OF CHRIST”

Christ throughout the Scriptures
“SAMSON WAS A TYPE OF CHRIST”
PRECIS:
Dear Reader, Christ is to be found throughout the scriptures.
“Samson was a type of Jesus, who for the love of a harlot (and we are no better), was willing to part with his own strength; to be bound up by his own nation (Judges 15:10-11); to be delivered up to his enemies; to be blindfolded; to made sport with; and put to death; yet by his death (like Samson) destroyed his enemies.”

SAMSON

2. To part with his own strength

And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. Judges 16:30

2. To part with his own strength

“When
Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” (John 19:30)

But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

Judges 16:21

“Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?” (Matthew 26:67-68)

7. To be put to death
