“A CONCISE AND SIMPLE UNDERSTANDING OF SOUND BIBLE DOCTRINE”
“Now I (PAUL) beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” (1 Corinthians 1:10)
“Be ye followers of me (PAUL), even as I also am of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 11:1)

THE GREAT COMMISSION
Christ’s commission given to the apostles, is now replaced by the gospel given to Paul, the apostle born out of due time.
By following Paul, Christians have the ministry of reconciliation to the unsaved.
Christ’s commission: Matt 28:19-20
Apostles: Eph 2:20; Acts 1:21-22
Born out of due time: 1Cor 15:8
Following Paul: 1Cor 11:1
Ministry of reconciliation: 2Cor 5:17-20 (See Appendix A)
Contrary to popular Christian belief, we are not under the great commission as given by Christ to his apostles.
Christ’s commission has water baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Also, the apostles were given power to cast out devils, speak in new tongues, taking up serpents, drinking deadly things and laying hands on the sick to recover (Mark 16:15-18).
Unfortunately, the misapplication of Christ’s commission gives the wrong foundation, and indeed reinforces the misinterpretation, that water baptism is an ordinance for the church.
As the jailer said “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” and Paul replies “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Acts 16:30-31). No water baptism needed.
