“JUSTIFICATION
BY FAITH #5”
“HOW
DID WE BECOME SINNERS BEFORE GOD?”
Dear
Reader, when we find this out, it then becomes clear, how we can then
become
righteous before God … that is … what makes us acceptable to God
… that
is … how we can stand before God and claim to be sinless.
The
clue resides in the following scripture …
“For
as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so
by the obedience
of one shall many be made righteous.” (Romans 5:19)
This
means that we did not become sinners by something that happened
within
us … but we became sinners by something that happened outside
of
us.
Adam,
as the first man … was the head of the human race … so when he sinned,
this sin
was passed down to every man whether he liked it or not … like a
computer virus
spreading throughout the world … from just one computer.
And
this is what happened to the whole human race … as Paul says … every
man became
condemned ... as the Bible states …
“…
through
the offence of one many be dead … Therefore as by the
offence of one judgment
came upon all men to condemnation … (Romans 5:15, 18)
And
Dear Reader it makes sense doesn’t it … that is … because of the actions
of
one, many are condemned.
Some
examples are …
1.
The Canaanite children were wiped out because of the sins of
their
parents.
2.
Because of Achan’s sin, his whole family were killed.
3.
And in today’s secular life, if a father loses his business,
the
children are made poor as well.
So
Satan jumps for joy with the fall of Adam because the whole human race
is then
his … Satan becomes the head of the human race.
But
here’s
the thing … if Satan can bring the human race into condemnation by one
man … surely
God can do the opposite … by bringing all men unto righteousness …
by the
one man Jesus Christ.
We
read …
“But
not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the
offence of one
many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace,
which is by
one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not
as it
was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to
condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto
justification. For if by
one man's offence death
reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and
of the
gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
Therefore
as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation;
even so by
the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto
justification of
life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so
by the
obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”
(Romans 5:15-16,17-18,19)
Just
as we had one father in Adam, God reversed the fall in Adam as
being our
first father … by giving us another Father.
As
it is written …
“For
unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and
the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince
of
Peace.”
(Isaiah 9:6)
Yes
Dear Reader, Jesus Christ is the everlasting Father and is
called the
‘second’ Adam … the last Adam
(1 Corinthians 15:45)
So
just as the whole human race was contained in the first Adam
… so
God reversed the order and has now contained the whole race in
his Son Jesus
Christ.
Jesus,
in dying for the sins of the whole world, becomes the new head of
all men
… the new representative … the new Father of the fallen race.
Why?
Scripture says …
“And
he (Jesus
Christ) is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only,
but also
for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)
