“THE BIG DUMB GOD THEORY”
aka God Almighty was unable to get us his inerrant, infallible and inspired words in a final written form

 Yes Dear Reader … but they did exist as some unseen, unread and unheard of pile of lost papers that are called ‘the original manuscripts’ … they are some mythical writings that can only be found in heaven.

 First off, the ‘originals’ people tell me they are clever enough to be able to correct The King James text with “THE Greek text” or “the ORIGINAL Greek text”.

Yes, these are they, who while claiming they believe The Holy Bible is the FINAL court of appeal in all matters of faith and conduct, also appeal to an unseen, unread, unheard of pile of lost papers, calling them “the original autographs”.

Now here’s the second part of my dilemma. In the process of their not being cornered, I am then told with all the gravity and sincerity of Putin giving a discourse on peace, “Oh no, even though we don’t have a clue about these “originals”, and where we can find them, we are absolutely sure God’s word is forever settled in heaven. (Ps 119:89).

“Ah yes” they say “it’s not available down here so you’d better try and access heaven to find God’s word!”

The ‘inerrant Greek originals people’ believe the following
aka “The Big Dumb God Theory”

a. There is no final authority but God.

b. Since God is a Spirit, there is no final authority that can be seen, heard, read, felt or handled.

c. Since all books are material, there is no book on this earth that is the final and absolute authority on what is right and what is wrong: what constitutes truth and what constitutes error.

d. There once was a series of writings one time which, IF they had all been put into a BOOK as soon as they were written down the first time, WOULD HAVE constituted an infallible and final authority by which to judge truth and error. However, this series of writings was lost, and the God who inspired them was unable to preserve their content.

e. Since there is NO ABSOLUTE AND FINAL WRITTEN AUTHORITY that anyone can read, teach, preach or handle, the whole thing is a matter of “PREFERENCE”. Everyone can prefer what they prefer, I will prefer what I prefer and you can prefer what you prefer.

f. Let us therefore live in peace and if we cannot agree on anything or everything, let us all agree on one thing:

g. THERE IS NO FINAL, ABSOLUTE, INERRANT, INFALLIBLE, WRITTEN AUTHORITY OF GOD ANYWHERE ON THIS EARTH.
