“THE 41 PARABLES OF JESUS CHRIST”
28 general and 13 kingdom of heaven
parables
Parable #3 - “WISE MAN BUILDS ON THE ROCK”
Matthew 7:21-24,25-27; Luke 6:47-49
The 3rd general parable of 28
BACKGROUND:
In 445BC, with one Bible week equating
to seven years (a prophetic year being 360 days), God commanded that seventy
weeks each of 7 years, would be determined upon Israel, that is … 70
weeks x 7 years = 490 years (Daniel 9:24-27).
This time frame is broken into four
time periods of (a) 7 weeks + (b) 62 weeks + (c) the mystery church
age of about 2,000 years + (d) 1 week = 70 weeks
and is explained as follows:
#1. Seven weeks of years is 7 x
7 = 49 years … the time it takes to restore and build Jerusalem from
445BC to 396BC.
#2. Sixty two weeks of years is 62
x 7 = 434 years … the time from the building of Jerusalem in 396BC to
Christ being cut off at the cross in 32AD.
#3. The church age of approximately 2,000
years
#4. One week of years is 1 x 7
= 7 years … this is the seven years of tribulation of God’s wrath upon
the earth, that takes place after the rapture … called Daniel’s 70th
week.
The
following Timeline will help (not drawn to scale):
DANIEL 9:24-27
“Seventy weeks are
determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city … from the going forth of the
commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall
be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks … after threescore
and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off … he shall confirm the covenant with
many for one week …”
THE WISE MAN
BUILDS ON THE ROCK
“Not every
one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many
will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy
name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy
name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I
never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore
whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken
him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:” (Matthew 7:21-24)
Dear Reader, in a nutshell, the above ‘many’
… in making up their own rules … had moved ahead of God in their own flesh and
will, in attempting to be like the apostles.
These workers of iniquity were
disobedient to the instructions for the only entry requirements
necessary for entry into the kingdom of heaven here on earth as contained in
Matthew chapters 5-7.
With Christ’s instructions at the end of
his ministry on earth, the following works were given ONLY to the
apostles … to “Go ye into all the world, and preach
the gospel to every creature. … to cast out devils … speak with
new tongues … take up serpents … drink any deadly thing… lay
hands on the sick” and so on (Mark
16:15-18) … but even then THERE IS AN ABSENCE OF BEING
ABLE TO PROPHESY. It looks like this:
These workers were not
building their spiritual house on the Rock of Christ and his instructions for
entry into the kingdom of heaven (Matthew chapters 5-7) … but were making up
their own rules … in their name … not thy (Christ’s) name!
Christ’s analogy, his parable, is that
they are building their spiritual house on sand not on rock … an absolute
futile exercise … they were foolish … they were workers of iniquity!
And here’s the thing … here was the
Rock (Deuteronomy 32:4, 15, 18; 2 Samuel 23:3; Psalm 18:2; Matthew 16:18; 1 Corinthians 10:4) talking about rock things … as in the sower (Matthew
13:13).
If they would see Christ as the Rock and
continuously believe on him, they would gain entry into the kingdom of heaven. And
of course, until they repented, their destiny would be the fires of hell.
APPLICATION TO THE CHRISTIAN
So here’s the thing … Christians and
Christian churches are half way in between as it were.
It’s a saved man, inside the Rock, building
his spiritual house on sand by
1. Making up their own rules and constitutions
2. Building on the Greek
3. Using the mixed mortar of different
dispensations
4. Dialling up Calvin for support
5. Throw in some water baptisms
and tithing
Ooops! Crumbly! Crumbly!

king’s men,
couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty back together
again!”
