“THE HISTORY OF THE WORD ‘SOVEREIGN’
As this article will show, the origin of the word ‘sovereign’
is to be found in the bowels of Rome.
WHEN DID THE WORD ‘SOVEREIGN’ EMERGE?
The word ‘sovereign’, as a noun, emerged in the late 13th
century AD, and early 14th century AD as an adjective.
It’s etymology is from the Old French soverain meaning
"superior, ruler, master, one who is superior to or has power over
another, highest, supreme, chief, sovereign, lord, ruler, king, queen, ruler of
a realm"
In addition, the word comes from the Latin supernus,
superus; French – souverain; Italian – sovrano; Portuguese - soberano
The word ‘sovereign’ is also used of Church authorities, and
heads of orders, or houses, as well as local civic officials.
WHAT IS THE SOURCE OF THE WORD ‘SOVEREIGN’?
The Norman Conquest in 1066 AD was the invasion and
occupation of England, by a European army made up of thousands of Norman,
Breton, Flemish, and French troops … all led by the Duke of Normandy, later
named the Conqueror William 1st .
The Normans were historically famed for their martial spirit
and eventually for their Catholic piety, becoming exponents of the
Catholic orthodoxy of the Romance community.
WHO WOULD HAVE MOST TO GAIN FROM THE USE OF THE WORD
‘SOVEREIGN’?
Surprise! Surprise! Rome of course. They hate the Almighty
authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the fact, that he is coming back to sit
on David’s throne.
Hence, in Roman Catholic bibles, they have re-positioned the
comma in the following verse, to show that Christ will be staying in heaven for
ever, and will not be coming back to earth. Why? Rome considers itself as the
Almighty authority!
“But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins
for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;” (Hebrews 10:12) (The King
James Bible)
“But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins,
for ever sat down on the right hand of God;” (Hebrews10;12) (Rome’s
Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition).
Furthermore, Alphonso di Liguori, the Italian bishop, says
that Rome creates Christ out of the wafer. Imagine that! Rome creates God. You
see, that’s ‘Almighty’ Rome creating the Almighty God. Wow! That’s a trick and
a half! Hocus pocus and all that!
THE 1611 TRANSLATORS
Using Ussher’s Bible chronological time frame, starting with
creation around 4,000 BC, God, the ‘I AM THAT I AM’, has always been
known as the Almighty God, and never as sovereign God. Why? Around 5,300
years would elapse before the word ‘sovereign’ was invented, and therefore
could not be used.
For
the 1611 Translators, there were only the Bible titles of kings, queens,
rulers, princes, dukes, tetrarchs, caesars and governors to choose from … and
as stated, the word sovereign’ only came into existence in the late 13th
century.
The 1611 translators knowingly
chose the word ‘Almighty’ for God’s name even though the word ‘sovereign’
had existed for close to 300 hundred years!
Dear Reader, did you know ……
the next time you hear someone say “The Greek says…”, you can be sure this is
code language for “I haven’t got a clue what the English says!
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Fancy going to a dead language
like Koine Greek to explain what is perfectly obvious in their first language
which is English!
Surely this must be the height
of intellectual arrogance or linguistic buffoonery? What other explanation
could there be?
And what a monumental sleight
of the mind, that Satan could get men to depart from what they know, and plunge
into the deep, dark and unknown Koine abyss for clarity. Surely the scripture
is true “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:22)
THE 1611 TRANSLATORS DEDICATORY
At the outset, the following
are three quotes from the King James Translators from their 1611 Dedicatory,
telling of their unsurpassed language skills.
Firstly, “… out of many good ones (the godly line of Bibles -
Wyclif, Tyndal, Coverdale, Matthew, Great, Geneva, Bishop plus dozens and
dozens of others), one principal good one, not justly to be excepted
against.”
This means, no critic will,
or can, have any argument over what we have produced.
Secondly “The same will shine as gold more brightly being rubbed
and polished.”
That is, they had English
Bibles for 230 years prior to 1611 … not to mention the line of godly
Bibles from the 1st century.
Thirdly, they came to the work “… LEARNED, NOT TO LEARN:”
That is, they forgot more Greek
than the modern translators will ever know. This was not arrogance on their
part. They were just stating the obvious.
They knew it all … having
access to the Original Tongues and languages .… NOT THE ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPTS! …
with the former translations diligently compared.

Let me finish with this … we
are called to judge those within (1Corinthains 5:12). My advice?
Dear Reader, stick to the King
James Bible terms … and stopping drinking from Rome’s broken sovereign cisterns
(Jeremiah 2:13).
